Photosensitive seizure warning - Before you play the game!
This was also featured on Reals Deep of 20223D realms Virtual Conference.
Summary:
Impaler is challenging, rewards movement, and each run feels different thanks to rogue-like elements. Overcome the increasingly tricky hordes of monsters by upgrading your weapons & abilities. Impaler has a retro art style, a great soundtrack, and a custom engine for extra smooth frame rates.
My Experience:
I thought this would be a boring game, but I was proven wrong. This gets abit addicting, surviving as long as you can while impaling creatures, tons of enemies, gaining points (gold coins), and new effects with more play-throughs.
What I liked:
You have several six different weapons to use
A great game to play It reminds me alot of Retro Shooters and Vampire Survivor games
Very Cheap game for $2.99
What I didn't like
After a while, the game can feel abit repetitive
The gameplay is abit slow at times

The minimalistic arena shooter: Impaler
Impaler (Early Review) Developer: Apptivus Publisher: Retrovibe Releases On: Dec 6, 2022 Price: $3 USD In Impaler you summon, as the name suggests, spikes to impale and slay monsters. You can also use them to build barriers. It has some rogue-like elements which help try to ensure a different feel each run but it falls short. The game is influenced by retro games like DOOM and QUAKE with a real nostalgic feel to it. It's not perfect but it isn't bad either.

A concentrated blast of roguelike shooter action - Impaler Quick Review
PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? You should probably play this, as long as you’re a fan of hardcore roguelike/shooter hybrids and don’t mind a game that’s light on content (but cheap). With its blazing fast pace and super old-school visuals, Impaler reminded me of Devil Daggers, another great wave-based arena shooter. Impaler’s frenetic mechanics only go so deep, but it works perfectly as a game I played a few quick rounds of during a break from work or to get my brain working in the morning.
