MergEvo TD brings the tower defense genre to the typical AFK game modes. This is like tower defense meets AFK Arena. It has basically all of the same modes and features but done with tower defense gameplay. The game features a gacha system which is where you will be trying to acquire new monster cards to help build out your decks. The characters are plentiful and adorable looking. They all have some kind of unique attack or effect that adds to the strategy involved. The beginning tutorial does a great job of teaching you all the basic mechanics of the game. It also teaches you about the first few monsters and how to properly take advantage of their special skills.

The core gameplay is super fun and addictive. The game has many different game modes aside from the traditional campaign quests. The live PVP is by far my favorite. The problem arises when you take a look at the cash shop. There is a ridiculous number of different ways to spend money. The game also features the dreaded VIP system which rewards you even more for spending. If you can look passed all the monetization in the game than it's still enjoyable for its core gameplay. The map layouts are strategically crafted and have fine detail to the graphics. This was clearly a game that was worked on very articulately.

The game is very forgiving if you let any enemy reach your hero. Instead of losing by the number of enemies that get by it works off of a hp system. Different enemies will do different amounts of damage when they reach your main hero which you are trying to protect. There are different heroes in the game as well and when you level them up, they can gain special effects you can use on the battlefield. MergEvo TD is a great game anyone can play and enjoy. It's not super time consuming but still offers you progression if you want to keep playing. This is a game I highly recommend anyone try out whether your a casual gamer or hardcore gamer.
