Damn, the trailer and the store page really sells this game on a lower bar. To be honest I'm quite surprised how much better this game is then I thought and I have to give credit where it's due cas this rarely happens.
First off, I really want to get this out of the way cas my god, instead of "Ninja Must Die" they should've named it "Genshin Must Die" cas this game is the definition of "if Genshin was a Platformer with Ninjas". From creating teams, upgrading the characters and getting wishes (tho this game is definitely more generous since I got a legendary weapon and a legendary character very fast) it's the goddamn same thing, and frankly, I think it's fine, even better if you're a fan of Genshin cas you're definitely gonna love this game also.
But now that we got the interface out of the way, there is another thing that is similar, this is also a time sucker. I didn't expect to actually get hooked as much as I did, even if the gameplay is pretty repetitive, it's still a pretty well designed platformer and a bit challenging I might say because it does get progressively harder the more you advance, and thank goodness for that because it would've been really boring otherwise, though don't worry is not that hard.
This game is also a bit versed, it has the base game which is the Story Mode, then it has the Race Mode (which I might add I'm #1 on the leaderboard, hehe), a Ninja Trails which is pretty much a boss rush, and there is also Bounty which is the same thing as Ninja Trails just that you need a team for it. You also can create a Clan or be a part of a Clan and you'll have to do some quests for it and the Clan can increase in rank.
The art style is nothing amazing, it's your run of the mill stickman game but there are a few characters with a bit more definition and also some that aren't just sticks, I think the background saves it a bit cas some parts are actually beautiful though you won't have much time to admire it since you're constantly running. The thing I like the most about the artstyle is when an actual cutscene happens because there are a few comic pictures which are really well drawn.
Now the thing that kinda lets this game down... or makes it better...? I still haven't decided yet. But that will be the voice overs cas they sound goofy as hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they recorded it on a phone because they surely weren't recorded professionally but even though they are pretty bad, like some characters don't even match with the voice in my opinion, it is that bad that it's good, cas it's kinda funny. The funniest thing is that the main character's voice is the worst and the legendary characters have the best voices, so better pray your wish to come home if you want decent audio.
Overall I think you have a lot to do in this game and it's much more fun than you'd expect, I'll definitely play more and surely not because of the story, that's why I didn't mentioned it cas let's be real, nobody will really care about it, it's just there for the sake of it. But the gameplay is fun, of course the gatcha element is making this game addictive and I wanna see how long I can be #1 on Leaderboard, so try and take me down I guess, I want a challenge.
My in game name is Dviron now.
Ninja Must Die was publicly tested in China on August 23, 2018,much earlier than Genshin Impact. But updates in the last two years made this game "Genshin" huh~
