How is it played again? sigh

I carefully listened to the backstory, yet I still don't get it. It had nice graphics, so I was all ears when I opened it. There are also actual pictures used on every map, so it kinda amazed me. But I still don't know how to play it. Well, I know that you need to target the mice and all, but still, they don't go away. I'm getting annoyed now and it took me hours already.

One of those games....

This is one of those games where you've played it in the past for a brief time, uninstalled and moved on. From time to time, you see a post about it on TapTap, or you see a trailer and think.....Wow, this looks good! So you download it and play it again......Only to be just as unimpressed as last time you played.
