genshin is in an awkward spot where it tries to appeal to casual players but fails to do so. dailies are separate actions from daily mats farming. resin is awkward, artifact rng makes you need too much of it (and dedicate too much time), yet resin refund is too slow. also each artifact/mats run takes some time, but there's no auto or swipe option. daily routine requires too much attention imo. genshin fails to appeal to casuals but also fails to appeal to competetive players as current competetive content is very lackluster (abyss every two weeks? seriously?)
as a gacha genshin is awkward too. banners are fittingly long for such pity and such low rates, but there are just too many characters. reruns take too long to come around. and even standart banner only updates for 4*, what happens when some characters fall out of demand? they vanish into void with no means to obtain?
events are also awkward. they kinda do rerun, but the story is different every time, and the story centered events do not rerun at all. what did you say about this game being story centered?
ooh and while on story and events. story locked events? i get that it's not nice to do an event without any knowledge of recent happenings, but it isn't really nice being not able to participate in them at all. there's so much to catch up to for new and returning players. and there is no skip button. and no recent dialogue button too. story centered game makes it hell to read the story, huh
gameplay (button-wise) is okay, reactions are interesting, but genshin lacks places to test your limits. everything is too squishy (hello attempt to appeal to casuals)
character design is questionable at times, but effects are pretty. locations are stunning. too bad that everything requires a bit too much computing power and i can't enjoy it as i supposed to
genshin can feel nice as first online-ish gacha game, but it lack so much qol that you see in other games. genshin loses appeal when you start playing other stuff, unless you love open world so much and are head over heels into certain characters
end of subjectiveness
