They Should Call This Game The Waiting Chronicles...

Frontier Chronicles is a game that could have been good but was absolutely butchered. The graphics are nice, and the art style gives it some uniqueness. The attention to detail is well done. My favorite part is that when you are training a troop you actually see a troop training off to the side of the military building. When there aren't any troops in the training que that animation is no longer present. I love when developers implement small things like that. However, that is about as good as it gets. Everything else about the game is just plain boring.

The game lacks a good tutorial to get players involved in the game at the start. By far the worst part about the game is the waiting. It's done in the most idiotic way possible. Most base building games will give you a free speed up the first time you construct a new building to get you set up fast. This game makes you sit and stare at a 30 second timer. The problem is you can't do anything else. The task will say construct a hospital and you have to sit there and wait until it is done before a new task pops up allowing you to attack a monster or something.

It gets boring very fast and feels like you are not even progressing. You have to wait for everything with no way to speed it up unless you spend real life money on the premium currency. 30 seconds to train a troop, 30 seconds to heal, 30 seconds to build. And you have to wait for them to finish before you can even do anything else. The battles are turn based and feel robotic. The animations just don't feel fluid at all. The way the auto play works is once you activate for the battle that is it you can't turn it off. So, battles are either done either completely by you or completely automatic. I really don't recommend this game. It's not fun at all and after waiting for those 30 second timers to expire you will quickly uninstall the game.

Frontier Chronicles - Another SLOW BASE BUILDING Game.
At First Frontier Chronicles seemed like an interesting game to me, the art style was cute, and it kind of reminded me a bit like the old Command & Conquer games... Just a little bit. But in the end this game couldn't grab me. Gameplay wise you are building a base and your army and have to fight turn based matches with enemies that pop up as your base is progressing. You have to get resources as well, though it is very slow to gather, and I felt like no matter what position I put my men, they died really easily.

Out of all the base-building strategy games I’ve played, Frontier Chronicles has to be one of the least interesting ones. After spending nearly a decade grinding games like Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, and Castle Clash, Frontier Chronicles might look appealing but it leaves so much to be desired. Is it terrible? Not at all. It’s just not great or worth the time when there are so many better options out there.

Frontier Chronicles was a CUTE and COLORFUL Game... But That's About It.
Frontier Chronicles is a cartoon style base building game that for the most part I didn't think was too bad. However I did find it a bit slow. Everything felt slow. Building things was a 30 second wait, same with healing your men and upgrading too. I can only imagine it gets longer as you progress. I stopped playing when I ran out of gold to heal my men and it was asking me to buy more gold to progress. So I turned off the game at that point. I liked the art style though, but not much else in the end.
