I love solving mysteries, I love figuring out puzzles, and I love time travel. Exit: The Curse of Ophir checks each of those boxes and wraps it all up in an intriguing escape room-style package.
The Exit: The Game series has actually been around for years now in the form of physical board games, but as far as I know, this is the first digital iteration. That pedigree shows, though, as the puzzles balance perfectly between being extremely clever but not too obscure. I admit I was saved by the game's forgiving hint system more than a couple of times.
I also really dug the simple but detailed visual style. The bizarre setting of the Hotel Ophir has a sort of art deco vibe that's undeniably appealing. And when the game lets you begin exploring parts of the hotel in different time periods, it becomes even more intriguing.
Best of all, for a mere $4.99, Exit: The Curse of Ophir provides a full game without any b.s. No ads, no microtransactions, nothing! It's a great deal.
