Goat Simulator has been wild on Twitter for years. They are used to joking around with IRL celebrities, news and video games by attaching that crazy goat to them.
However, the studio met their Waterloo in the field of goat memes recently when they picked a fight with Rockstar Games' parent company Take-Two.
The whole thing started when Goat Simulator used some of Rockstar's GTA VI footage, which had been leaked by hackers in September, in a prank ad video.
The video focuses on a goat named Shaun. In an interview, Shaun tells the audience about his experience working as an NPC in the game. At the end of the video, he reveals that he is currently participating in a big title, in a game that was leaked a few months ago. Then the camera turns and plays the previously leaked footage of GTA VI.
Although it is a funny ad, Rockstar's parent company Take-Two apparently does not find it funny.
As we all know, Take-Two's legal department has struck a lot in recent years. Not only scrutinizing player mod communities more and more closely, Take-Two has also sued a number of companies over trademark copyright issues, including Hazelight Studios, which developed It Takes Two.
The GTA VI leak is undoubtedly a heavy blow to them, so they requested that Twitter remove the video immediately.
At first, only the video was removed, and Goat Simulator replied to players with a Simpsons meme to express their feelings, but they apparently didn’t realize the seriousness of the incident.
Within a few hours, the video had been taken down across Goat Simulator 3’s channels. Take-Two has additionally been taking down all re-uploads of the footage on YouTube.
Whether Take-Two will take further legal action is yet to be seen. However, many people commented on the Twitter post that they would definitely purchase Goat Simulator 3 to show support. After all, it was hilarious to see Take-Two getting so mad. It looks like no matter how this incident ends, the goat still wins.

A new trailer for Goat Simulator 3 has seemingly been hit with take-down notices by Take-Two after it incorporated leaked Grand Theft Auto 6 footage.
Coffe Stain North released a new trailer for Goat Simulator 3, though you’ll have a hard time finding it now after it was hit with DMCA takedowns. The reason? The trailer used leaked footage from GTA 6 as part of the video.
In Eurogamer’s report, the trailer begins with an NPC named Shaun who was being fake interviewed for his role as a ragdoll NPC in Goat Simulator 3. According to Shaun, he attended the “most prestigious rag-dolling school in the world.”However, when asked about his other work, Shaun says that he has “other stuff in the pipeline, other, big game worlds. You can actually see me in some footage that was leaked a couple months ago.”Shaun then points to clips of the GTA 6 leaks with himself edited in. And this is the footage that led to Take-Two issuing takedowns of the trailer.

Per Bloomberg, Take-Two revealed in an end-of-business SEC filing a plan to save itself more than $165 million annually due to "reductions in its existing expense base and lowered projected expense growth for the coming years." In the process, it'll incur up to $200 million in charges, the majority of which - up to $140 million - is related to the cancelation of projects, while another $25 million to $35 million is related to employee severance and related costs. Take-Two is also reducing its office space as part of the plan.
