Developer Daniel Carmichael Talks Shop About Ship Of Fools {Full Interview}

While I wanted to post a review of this video, there's a few odds and ends I need to confirm about this first- Some Journalistic Due Diligence, and a small conversation with the Dev. So, in the meantime- I figured I'd post up my thoughts of this title, and the time I spent it alongside my editor hop. There'll also be a written review for those of you who hate videos. P.S. Ship of Fools is the perfect lighthearted roguelite about voyaging the ocean with friends or occasionally alone. Similar to games like Overcooked, cooperative play is key to success here. Players must shuffle around the ship, delivering supplies to stock their cannons and repairing the deck to prevent the ship from sinking. THE STORY In Ship of Fools, I embarked on an adventure to save the world from the almighty Aquapocalypse, a catastrophic event caused by a sea beast approaching the shores of my character’s lighthouse. I needed to jump aboard the Stormstrider and voyage across the sea while manning cannons and slapping away monsters with an oar, all to hopefully reach and defeat the terrifying beast causing all this chaos.

Our ship has sunk and the sea washes us back to our island. Again. Well, it is a roguelite action game, so every run is supposed to end where it started... at the Great Lighthouse. It is situated on a tiny island, sourrounded by sea monsters and inhabited by just a few people. Most things on this island are destroyed and abandoned. Your job, of course, is to rebuild it to its former glory, to bring back the missing population, rebuild the infrastructure while upgrading your warship.
