Monthly Dystopia is a rather complex text-based RPG game with a compelling plot. The game offers a highly compelling narrative in which you must behave admirably but can also flee to freedom if you are aware of the risks and avoid being apprehended by the so-called dictator. The game's gameplay is really straightforward; all you have to do is pick an answer from a list of dialogue options, and the game will proceed accordingly. You might even get stuck in the game at some point, which is incredibly annoying since no matter what choice we select, the game will just get stuck in a loop with no way out of it. I had to restart the game to go beyond that. I found it to be quite grating, and I didn't care for it at all.
Instead of that, if you play the game consistently, it has a very unique twist to it as well. As an example, in the gameplay where you are a model citizen, you are supposed to go to work every day and fulfill a new task given but there’s always something new happening. For instance, sometimes after you finished work, you might run into a coworker or even have the choice of escaping the dictatorship and heading for freedom. Or else, you can go to grocery store and buy some basic needs that is required for day to day living. The game is all about what you want to do, whether you want to be a model citizen who obeys the dictator or be a freedom fighter and escape from that dictatorship.
Well, the game's music is fairly uninteresting, but it does fit with the game's theme, and as for the graphics, I didn't find them particularly captivating; rather, I thought they were passable and average. Despite the fact that the game was not my style, I found it to be quite averagely enjoyable. So, if you guys want to play a text-heavy tale game, this might be fun for you. Additionally, I discovered that it had some shady, dark passages, such as the hanging of the criminals and other things, which could be upsetting to certain people but had no bearing on me at all.
