Fears to Fathom is a horror game, while its scary and have its charm and style it defo have some drawbacks. In this article we will talk about both good and bad sides of Fears to Fathom: Carson House so you can decide if this is the right game for you.
PROS
1. Realistic Setting. Fears to Fathom series is based on a true story and it helps with the immersion a lot. You do your daily chores, and suddenly things start to go downhill, just like it can happen in a real life.
2. Interesting Interaction options. You dont have a weapon. All you have are home tools, PC with a security surveillance cameras and your phone. You can see the danger coming for you, but you cant do anything about it.
3. Atmospheric Sounds and ambience. Sound design in Fears to Fathom: Carson House is really pumping suspense up a notch. It keeps you on your toes and dont let you get relaxed.
4. Unique graphics style. It feels like you are watching VHS from 80s or 90s with all those artifacts, and imperfections. Kinda spooky.
CONS
1. Game Length. It takes somewhere from 1 to 3 hours to go through the entire game. While the journey is fun if you are looking for something more longterm Fears to Fathom wont sate your needs.
2. Some game sequences are too long and unskippable. TV watching part and Groceries shopping really put me out of the immersion. They take quite a lot of time, and while important to the story might be shorter
3. Checkpoints too far away from points of death. If you do something wrong and fail/die you will have to replay extra 10 minutes of the same stuff to get to the point where you lost. If you fail again - go over it again.
Verdict
Fears of Fathom: Carson House is a good horror game. If you like horror games that doesnt feature demons and mystical things, this one will be good for you. Try to live through the experience and feel it like you are there. It will add extra layer of fun. Its short, interesting and makes your hair stand on end at some moment of the game.

Absolutely play it if you have any love for horror games or appreciation for the hard work of indie developers. Fears to Fathom: Carson House is the third in an anthology of stand-alone, short-form horror games developed by Rayll, a twenty-year-old solo game developer based in India. As impossible as it might sound to believe, that one-man development studio has created an instantly compelling tale of terror that had me white-knuckling my mouse and no-exaggeration jumping out of my seat.
