TMNT Shredders Revenge - A GREAT GAME But Requires NETFLIX SUBSCRIPTION

Gameplay wise you have a virtual directional pad on the left side of the screen, and a bunch of buttons that can be pressed in certain combos to unleash devastation to your enemies. However... Before you can even get into the gameplay, you must have an active Netflix subscription in order to play this game. If you don't, then tough luck. Personally I think that locking your game behind a netflix subscription is pretty scummy, especially since you can just play it on PC by buying it on Steam, I don't have to worry about not being able to play the game once I cancel my netflix subscription.

So actually the mobile version is more expensive in the long run, since you need an ongoing netflix subscription just to keep playing the game, while for example on Steam, it's just a one time payment and you can play the game whenever you want. I am not okay with this method of being able to play the game. I think it's pretty scummy to be honest. If you want your game to be premium, just give it a one time payment and that's it. Don't lock it behind a subscription through netlfix.

Anyway, the controls in the game are okay, and there is a move list for you to familiarize yourself with and the combat is pretty cool too. You can also play with other people as well, so thats a pretty cool feature to have, and there is an Arcade Mode, which is basically a hard mode for the game. Visually I really liked that they kept the original art style of the cartoons, felt very nostalgic for someone like me.

I also thought the retro pixel art was very high detailed, at times I wasn't sure if this was truly pixel art, but I think it is? Or at the very least I would classify it as retro console style graphics. Or the old arcade style games. I would however love to see the game fit for the longer phones, I didn't enjoy having bars on the sides of my screen, the game screen is so small. Is this to match the retro feel of the game?

I'd prefer if it was a full screen game for all new phone screens as well. Overall I'd say that TMNT Shredders Revenge is a pretty fun game, that's locked behind a nasty subscription pay wall of being tied to your netflix account, forcing you to either pay for netflix or not play the game at all. Or just buy it on another platform if you have one available to you.

And if I were you, if you do have a PC, or another console, I think that's the better option. But thats my opinion, you might think it's fine, and that's okay too. Other than the whole netflix issue, I did enjoy my time in this game, and I think I will play this on and off going forward.
