[/b]Hey folks!
I’m Brian Feeney (some of you might know me as FeralPony), and I’m the Design Director on League of Legends: Wild Rift! I work with the game design folks here on everything from champs, to balance, to ranked and beyond. Before joining Wild Rift, I worked on a ton of teams across League of Legends PC. A fun fact about me: I have a bunch of animals, two of which you can meet in the latest /dev diary we released a few days ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fV73FM1QBkA
I’m here today because I want to talk a little about what you can expect from Wild Rift now and in the near future. Since the game was announced back in October 2019, we’ve seen your passion, your questions, and your demands(!) for more info; we know we’ve been pretty quiet for a while, but you can expect us to make a bunch more noise as we roll out to more of you in the Regional Closed Beta. We’ve made a lot of improvements to the game since our Alpha test a few months ago, and we can’t wait to see what you pull off with the new champs and tweaks we’ve made since then.
Some of you will be current or returning League players (hello again!), and many of you might be brand new to the world of League. At Riot, “Player Experience First” is basically written on the walls of our offices (...sometimes, literally). Whomever you are, whatever your experience with League or Wild Rift, we need your thoughts and feedback to make the best MOBA we can on mobile and console. We want to hear the good stuff as well as (and especially) the spicy stuff.
You can expect to see posts and updates like this from the team every week as we go through our first Regional Closed Beta, which started a couple of days ago in some Southeast Asian regions. We’ll cover everything from gameplay updates, design talk, Q&As, new features, or just progress on things we’re working on. We want to be transparent about decisions we make, features we add, or issues you’re seeing, and we know this is only the beginning of Wild Rift’s journey to launch!
In the meantime, there’s a ton of stuff that just dropped this week, so I’ve left some useful links at the bottom to get you up to speed.
And yes, we have more invites coming soon.
See you next time,
Brian & the Wild Rift team

WILD RIFT /DEV: BALANCING WILD RIFT
“Master Yi is SO OP.” “Jinx is BUSTED!” “WTF is this champ?!” Jonathan here. I lead the balance team on Wild Rift, and the above is just a sample of the quotes… from our last internal playtest. We wanted to give a quick intro to Wild Rift’s balance team, what we’re responsible for, and how we plan our patches. We’ll keep up the communication as the game evolves. WHO’S ON THE BALANCE TEAM? We’re a group of folks with a range of experience from different backgrounds:

“League of Legends: Wild Rift” Dev Diary: June 2020 - Gameplay Reveal
Wild Rift is coming to the end of its Regional Alpha, and we are grateful to the players who helped us in this initial stage, but we bet you're wondering what's next. While you can sign up for updates here, we thought now would be a great time to let the team take the reins and answer some of your pressing questions for the future of Wild Rift. ❑ WHY DOESN’T THE GAME HAVE THE [FEATURE]? We got a lot of questions like this! At this phase in our development, we're not considering it "step 1"—this is more like "step 0.5." The Regional Alpha is just a small slice of the game that we plan to launch with. A bunch of features was deliberately left out of the Alpha version, so we could make sure to focus on stability. As we head into the game going life for more players, we'll be developing with your feedback in mind and adding features as we go. More info later this year!

WILD RIFT REAL TALK: MARCH 2021
Source: League of Legends: Wild Rift What’s up with matchmaking and lag spikes? Game Director Alan “Mirross” Moore talks through Wild Rift’s plans for the next few months. Hey everyone, I haven’t had a chance to talk to you all yet, so I thought now would be a good time to say hi! I’m Alan “Mirross” Moore—Wild Rift’s game director; I lead the development of the game. Along with folks you’ve already met like Michael “Paladin” Chow, Brian “FeralPony” Feeney, and Christina “ObiWunKenobi” Wun, I work with all the Wild Rift teams and direct the overall player experience.
