Rhythm Sprout: Sick Beats & Bad Sweets is a brand new game on steam that I really enjoyed playing. The story, the rhythm game feature and how the game plays overall was really nice and surprising. Gameplay wise you play as Sprout, the chosen one. Who must save the kingdom and also save the princess. The story is very entertaining, and full of jokes, and also pretty self aware.

In order to progress in the story you have to play rhythm games to travel around the world. From a location full of talking mushrooms, to a spooky haunted castle. There's so many locations to visit while playing the rhythm part of the game. All the music is original and created for the game. With inspiration from genres such as low-fi, EDM, K-Pop, hip hop and even metal. With plenty more inspired music as well.

You must tap the right arrow for the pink buttons, left arrow for the yellow buttons and the down arrow for the blue ones. This game also has controller support, which I also gave a try, and to be honest I couldn't tell which I liked more, they both were decent in their own way, but if you want to play with a controller, you can. The rhythm part can be pretty challenging if you're not so musically inclined, and I did manage to screw up quite a few times. There is also a beginner mode, that combines the pink and yellow buttons into one. So you can tap either the left or right key for those, so you only really need to focus on either the left or right arrow key and the down arrow key instead of all three.

There is no cash shop in the game, instead opting for unlockables from playing the game, the unlockables are different outfit and weapon skins for your character, as well as some collab skins from the Hello Neighbor games. The prequel story can be unlocked by progressing the main story and there is even extra bonus levels for you to challenge yourself with as well. Each level also has different ways to mix up the difficulty too, you can speed up the notes, play it in mirror style as well as other options to give yourself an extra challenge.

Visually this game looks fantastic. With the gorgeous 3D cartoon style graphics, it really is a beautiful game, though it is hard to appreciate how gorgeous the game actually is, since you will be focusing on the color notes to really soak it all in, but the detail is great, and I really think this game looks super beautiful. Really well done. Overall I'd say that Rhythm Sprout: Sick Beats & Bad Sweets is a wonderful rhythm game with a fun and whacky story mixed into it. If you are a lover of rhythm games then I think this could be one to add to your collection.
