1 Bit Survivor is a simple game of survival where your goal is to make it twenty-eight days without dying. It has an impressive, if not simple, narrative. The world is filled with zombies, and the big bomb is going off in twenty-eight days. Your job is to get you and your cat to the bunker across the country.
If some of these names and plot devices sound familiar, you're not wrong. 1 Bit Survivor takes names like "bloater" for different zombies and tricks from classic survival horror games like Resident Evil and brings them into its pixelated world.
The gameplay is fun and easy to grasp but provides a decent challenge. 1 Bit Survivor relies on turn-based mechanics that required me to strategize my moves. My job was to survive by grabbing the gas cans and escaping in my car. Each day represents a level with new enemies and challenges. There are even different layouts and themes. I went from frozen tundra to graveyard all in a week.
Additionally, 1 Bit Survivor has unlockables like character classes and cool statistics to track your kills and progress. A big offering in a tiny one-bit package. If you're looking for something quick and easy to scratch your survival horror itch while on the go, 1 Bit Survivor is the perfect game.

1 Bit Survivor is a rogue-lite survival horror with simplistic 1-bit graphics but an artistic stylized presentation. The atmosphere is definitely classic Resident Evil 2 and 3-style, an obvious inspiration especially with sound bits when starting a session complete with typewriter sounds to tell the story, and the menacing sound effects that you hear. The comparison however ends there as the gameplay features a 1-bit retro game design and monochromatic graphics.

Surviving Zombies in 1 Bit
So we're currently in the Survivor Game Era, from survivor.io to vampire Survivor and many more survivor games that are built the same way seeing how long you can last while powering up. 1 Bit Survivor tries something a bit different but still very familiar with the format they chose with this game. So The game is played in top down format and you only move to gain gas every day and all of your enemies move per square every time you move so there's a strategy behind your battles. As this game plays just like other roguelikes out there this all have to be done in one run or it's game over. Clicking start gave me heavy resident evil vibes.
