Gacha game is a kind of game where you spend in-game currency, which costs real-world cash, to gain an exclusive game item or character. It originated from the capsule toy vending machine in Japan.
There are many games that implement gacha elements, such as one of the hottest games on TapTap, Genshin Impact. There is a so-called ‘Wish System’ in the game, allowing you to get new characters and weapons (from mediocre 3-star to legendary 5-star), which will be helpful for your game progress.
Other popular games, like FGO, Azur Lane, Arknights, all have gacha mechanism.
Admittedly, gacha games are quite controversial. While some people think that gacha games are exciting, others think the gacha rates can be unfair and cause frustration. Some players think gacha games simply encourage pay-to-win.

The perfect gacha game will let you obtain any hero you want a long as you put in the effort to make the ingame currency. It should also be generous and offer enough in game currency for beginners to start with a hero or weapon they want. Sound like an impossible request? It is not, because that is the way guardian tales has been with their gacha. I am a freetoplay player but when i see a game as good as guardian tales, I feel obligated to pay them something since they created such a satisfying game.

I’m against Pay to win, people waste lots of money on things to get advantage. Unfortunately we Free to Play players are always struggling to keep up, even though if you spend more time in a game than most, you won’t be able to beat a pay to win player.
