Will this game actually release, like, at all ? I've checked weibo and the twitter but there doesn't seem to be any update except some cosplays and chinese comic-con stuffs... ? And the last update on twitter was June 22nd....

I wouldn't be so pessimistic. Right now - on their Twitter- or better said on their two (!) (one japanese, one English) Twitter Pages, you can see a real development of the game within short GIF's and there are character status reports, as well as a bit of the lore explained. There's a pretty good chance now that we'll get this^^
