This series is virtually an animated version of J.R.R. Tolkien. The amount of detail and effort put into this world is astounding. While it is a little bit slow, it has the best lore in any game.
One of the longest, most character-driven, story-driven, and lore-driven video games I have ever played is "The Legend of Heroes: Trails of (Series)"
You won't find many games with such a strong story and character development.
Even if you only play Sky I and II, the story still sells this series, even though the most recent iterations of the plot (Cold Steel) appear to place less emphasis on the aesthetics and movement than their original counterparts, it still in every way worth your time.

I'm not a major fan of the Final Fantasy series, but FFIX is hands down the best.
The music, mini-games, characters, and the narrative are done perfectly.
Everything you require to entertain yourself for hours on end is there.
FFIX is not as well-known as games like FFVII or FFVIII. But, it is still one of the best games, and if you've never played the series before, this is a game you should have on your playlist.

A mysterious fog, people are being murdered and it's up to teens to solve the mystery?
This series is challenging to pick a favorite because Persona 3, 4, and 5 each offer something unique to the table. This could be the social links, music, combat, etc.
Persona 3 is really edgy with the whole combat system.
Persona 4 has a strong bond for their characters.
Persona 5 is overall really smooth and clean.
In the end, though, I would rank them as follows: 4 > 5 > 3.
I would strongly advise playing either 4 or 5 if you haven't played any Persona games before.
The storylines in the most recent releases are completely stand-alone, so you don't need to play the earlier iterations to understand them.

Don't be like me initially. Give this game the chance it deserves, you won't regret it.
Due to the trailers excessively intricate designs, I entered into the game with low expectations. But putting everything aside, I made the decision to give it an honest try.
I have never been so addicted to a basic game in recent years. Even with mindless hack and slash grinding and infinite ways to customize your hero, the game has a ton of depth and character throughout the story. It genuinely held my interest from start to finish

The "Tale of Series" franchise has been going for a long time.
The first game debuted back in 1995, quite a long time ago.
This has been one of my favorite JRPG series, despite competition from Final Fantasy.
Bandai Namco is still one of my all-time favorite game producers due to their willingness to attempt new things, even if it doesn't work, in order to perfect their shortcomings in the following game, despite this there are several in this series that fall short from being great.
In the market for a very long list of games to play through? Each offer 60+ hours.
Tales of Phantasia
Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon
Tales of Destiny
Tales of Destiny II (not Eternia)
Tales of the Abyss
Tales of Vesperia
Tales of Graces F
Tales of Xillia 2
Tales of Berseria
These are the games that I urge you to play. The others fall short in a lot of the aspects that these games excel at, including gameplay, plot, and character.

Author likedI would agree and disagree here and there. I like a few of them, but not the mainstreamed ones that everyone goes head over heels for :P
