Diggers PROS and CONS. Is it Good?

Diggers is a peculiar game where you play together with others, but compete at the same time. It have good and bad sides, but whats the ultimate verdict, is it good?

In this article we will talk about both good and bad sides of Diggers so you can decide if this is the right game for you.

PROS

1. Coop gameplay

I wasnt expecting to see others on the same map digging holes, but suddenly I saw a fellow miner nearby. We shot few enemies and then he got defeated, but it was fun. Working together is always better than playing alone.

2. Digging is fun

Maybe its personal but I always liked the games where you gotta dig somewhere, like terraria, minecraft and overall digging games like these. You can get resources, upgrade and go dig deeper. Love the concept

3. Several progression mechanics

You can upgrade between the runs by spending resources you get for killing the invaders, lvl up during the run by getting mining exp, and get some additional bonuses for moving the portal deeper or getting some hidden artifacts while you dig.

CONS

1. Sloppy controls

Overall controls arent that bad, but its easy break the wrong block and do something that you didnt expected to.

2. Portal controls

Portal can theoretically fit in one tile, but usually you need 2 to move it somewhere. The problem is that you can push it around to move left or right (sometimes even up) but its a complex process and you can easily mess it up.

Also portal can get you stuck

3. Confusing upgrade mechanics

Some upgrades are obvious and easy to understand, but when you level up and have to pick one of 2 options you have to guess what the effect will be. Same about spending tech points between runs, one tech lvl up requires quite a lot of those points, and there is no info about it anywhere.

Verdict. Is Digger Good?

It needs some polish

Overall the game is fun, but it feels like its still under development. Idea is great, gameplay is pretty good too, but it needs some qol improvements, like more responsive controls so players can fully enjoy it.

Pretty good game if you're into digging or mining games. No intrusive ads, and no pesky energy system. You can do as many runs as you want and the game is very generous with gems and diamonds (in game currency) However by the time you reach the third tomb you'll be needing an unholy amount of gems to upgrade your gear and it gets extremely tedious to dig through because each dig eats at your health and it's too big if a chunk by the third tomb so you can dig about ten tiles of brown dirt before you die.
