The Wreck is a 3D novel based game where you play as Junon a 36-year-old female that must make a difficult life or death choice. After arriving at the hospital, she soon finds out her mom gave her the power to pull the plug or not. Her mom is suffering from a deadly brain condition and is on life support. With This difficult decision to make Junon relives past memories and gives the player chances to change her present moments. On her way home from the hospital she gets into a car wreck and that is when the memories begin to replay.
The game has an amazing story, but the dialogue has way too much filler. At the beginning I got bord because the interaction with the characters is often dull. It feels like there is unnecessary information shared that doesn't have anything to do with the main plot. If it was more direct the game would feel more thrilling and engaging. A lot of the times you are just sitting there watching and wondering what the point of this is. When you do reach the important parts though it is very well written.
Visually the game is beautiful, the lighting and particles seen floating in the air give the scenes a realistic feel. The problem is the characters don't really have animations to them. With the worst being the expressions on their faces. When having serious talks with each other you can hear the emotions in the voice actions voices but then you see a blank emotionless face on screen. This made it hard for me to feel fully emersed in the experience. The other downside was during the 2nd interactive scene a lot of the dialogue felt recycled over and over again. The main character was talking about lobsters and different facts about them, but they kept repeating the same facts, with slightly different wording at the end.
Overall, it has a great plot and has nice visual environments and awesome music that is licensed. The game features a streamer mode as well to help combat any issues content creators may face with the music. If you want a deep emotional story driven game give it a chance. But if you are more into action or get easily bord then you might want to steer clear of this one.
