Streets of Rage 4 is like a blast from the past, but will it be good for modern age gamers?

PROS

1. Beat 'em up genre

This is old time classics, which is barely seen those days. And it was reworked and adapted to fit modern requirements. Style, animation, graphics, character design, music. All that contributed to the great feel and good reception of Streets of Rage 4

2. Graphics and Style

Its not only the graphics itself, which is very good for the mobile devices, but overall setting and details. The way character moves, all the background effects, how enemies are designed. It all looks so cool!

Details, like golf club and cases of money under Police Chef are just so good that you want to replay game over and over again to find them all.

3. Smooth gameplay

As you master the controls its getting more and more comfortable to progress the campaign. On the first run I lost all my lives closer to the end of 1st level. On my third run I was there with full lives and full health. When you learn enemy movesets you know who to avoid and who can be easily taken out.

With this knowledge game feels good and really interesting to play.

4. Stylish story

Yeah, there isnt much of story in Streets of Rage 4, but those bits that are there are pretty cool.

CONS

1. Enemies are annoying

I know its supposed to be like that, but damn, those guys who jump out of nowhere and break your combo chain are really pissing me off. Over time you can learn how to mitigate their attacks. It takes time and patience, and I hate those.

2. Could be longer

Sadly the game isnt that long. Only 2-3 hours for main story.

Verdict. Is Streets of Rage 4 Good?

Yes

Its a very good game, especially for those who miss old good days, Battle Toads and games like that. I really enjoyed going through Streets of Rage 4, seeing all the different enemies and taking them apart.

Although the game length for this price is a bit too low.
