PROS
1. Good Pixel Graphics
I like pixed styled graphics and How We Know We're Alive made it look pretty. It have lighting effects, foreground and background and a lot of attention to the details.
2. Game story twists
You will be playing detective, but main mystery will be hidden in the plain sight. If you will play the game I dont want to spoil it to you. The story idea is pretty good, and twists are there to surprise you.
3. Might get deep feelings for someone.
I've checked other reviews for the game before writing this one and I can understand that some people might find this story relatable and might even shed a tear.
Although my experience is different
CONS
1. Game is SHORT
Its stated that game have an hour long gameplay, while in reality it took me 40 mins to go through it while reading all the dialogues out loud. So its closer to 20-30 minutes. 10 minutes of those will be walking around slowly under the rain.
2. Story idea isnt something special.
Maybe its me, maybe I have high expectations, but I found it hard to feel for the main character. Overall the story doesnt have anything supernatural or even unusual. Its a normal drama story about normal people. I wasnt impressed and the main character felt repulsive for me.
3. Minor bugs
There arent many, but if the game would be properly tested they wouldnt exist. Color code while message is loading and cool slide moves arent gamebreaking, but could be easily avoided.
4. Price for experience.
I bought the game for 3.5 USD on App Store and in my opinion its overpriced for 20 minute journey. If it would be free it would be fantastic game.
5. Your choice doesnt matter.
Why would game introduce a choice if story is linear and nothing affects it in any way. No actual gameplay, since you move from point A to point B in 4-5 locations that you will visit few times.
Verdict. Is How We Know We're Alive Good?
Not really
The fact that story is pretty blunt, twists are unexpected, but not that crazy and main character reaction to the event makes me regret buying it. Dont get me wrong, most people will love it. If the game would be free it would be a great small journey. 1 USD is a balanced price for it, but its up to you to decide if you want to play a game that lasts 20 mins and have no replayability value.

A short game that managed to pull at my heartstrings - How We Know We're Alive
How We Know We're Alive is a touching story about how the business of life can affect our relationships. This one is definitely a tear-jerker. From the beginning of the game, the original music pulled me in with its melancholy feel, but the dialogue and visuals, such as the consistent rain throughout the story, hammed the point home. Not that I'm complaining. Moving throughout the small Swedish town and learning more about the past kept me glued to the screen and, perhaps most importantly, left an emotional toll.

I played this game a few months ago, and I loved it so much I couldn't delete it when I finished. Visually, it's gorgeous. I love the colors, the graphics, and in particular, I love the way the street reflects its surroundings.
Its premise is simple, so you think you know exactly how the story plays out. But it subverts it in such a way that hits you pretty hard (at least it did me, anyway).
The music is really good, too. The track, How We Know We're Alive went straight on my playlist because of how hauntingly beautiful it is.
