Pickle Pete takes inspiration from games like Brotato. It mixes the free to play model that you would find in most modern games which have you buying equipment to make your runs easier. You are able to upgrade your starting gear and are able to level your gear within a round via pickles that you pick up as your primary currency. While there is nothing inherently wrong with this it is a shame that the first progression wall comes only 30 minutes into the gameplay. Pickle Pete offers a decent gameplay loop with some aesthetics for the items you pick up. I liked the model of the game when I played Brotato for the first time. It, unfortunately, does not do enough to separate itself from the crowd. As such I would recommend you skip over this game and only check it out if you are a diehard fan of the Survivor-like genre.
