I only started playing Guardian Tales today, but so far I am loving the game!
You start off as a brand new knight, in a fight to protect the castle that is currently under siege by enemies, and in a perilous situation, you may choose between personality types, and male and female gender types for your knight, as well as your own unique name.
As the game progresses on it introduces you to the movement and fighting mechanics of the game, as well as how to acquire small amounts of treasure present in the map with signs that you can read giving helpful hints that are pretty self explanatory if your familiar with mobile games.
The storyline starting off is quite interesting and pulls you into the current happenings and goings on of the game as a whole, introducing you to a female mage named Eva on her way to protect the king and queen during the current siege happening around the castle.
As you progress through the game you find yourself fighting foot soldier type enemies as you progress your way to the castle with Eva, and even your first mini boss in the form of a minotaur, ultimately finding the queen teleporting people to safety with her younger sister.
The pixel animation style of the game reminds me somewhat of the old first gen versions of Final Fantasy, and gives the game a very nostalgic old school rpg feel for those who are familiar with any of the first stage roleplaying games on the earlier first gen consoles and pc.
There do seem to be a few character boosting and treasure acquiring purchase offers within the game upon starting when a developed character loads into the game, however, as far as I can tell they don't at all seem mandatory.
The music in the game also adds to the overall nostalgic, pixel art style of the game and matches well with the gameplay as you are playing it.
Overall Guardian Tales is definitely worth the download and worth ones time playing it as well, if you like role playing games and, more importantly, love mobile games, this one is wonderful so far and may be the one for you!
good luck on your journey , game is quite f2p friendly , you can choose to spend money to support Dev's or just whale if u feel like it , game is incredibly rich in story , never lacking events too , gacha is quite forgiving for new players for some reason , you can easily get the unique heroes while old veterans seems to have run out of luck on them , so choose carefully you starter team that will be able to carry you into the late game
