Neodori Forever is arcade racing game, with retro pixel graphics. You can drive, drift and race with other npc racers, but does it have any flaws? Lets take a look?
In this article, we will explore the various aspects of Neodori Forever to help you decide whether it is the right game for you.
PROS
1. Retro feel
Neodori Forever have retrofeel pixel based graphics that reminds you of good old times. Its simple and colorful, but have its own style. Animation also looks like its from the 90s, so dont expect a lot of it there. Sometimes less it better.
2. Simple gameplay
Neodori Forever doesnt have any complexity of racing games, you can only steer left and right, use nitro and drift. Physics is absent as well, so its pure arcade experience. Although controls could be more responsive (see cons).
CONS
1. Lackning Controls
Neodori Forever's controls are strange. You can steer left and right, but sensitivity seems pretty random, since sometimes you oversteer and hit the wall, or understeer... and hit another wall. Drift is pretty unpredictable as well and its very hard to perform it right without hitting anything.
2. No tutorial, story, intro
In Neodori Forever you just go straight into the game. It takes a while to realize that gas tanks recover your car health/stamina and hitting things lower it. What coins are for? How to properly drift? You have to guess yourself or keep wondering forever.
3. Lack of progression
It feels weird, since every map you play feels more or less the same. Yes, you will get more sharp turns over time and different backgrounds, but there are no cap upgrades, no goal to strive to, coins help a little, but your race performance doesnt do anything. You can finish scraping every wall and car, or do perfect run, the result will be the same.
Conclusion. Is Neodori Forever Good?
Depends what you are looking for.
Neodori Forever by itself isnt a bad game, if you are looking for some arcade experience and retro feel. The main issue of the game is that it doesnt have a goal to strive to and lack explanation on how things works. Other than that its a pretty nice arcade racing game.
