The Tale of Food is a Gacha game where characters are humanized dishes. You will have to fight evil and corruption to get your God of Food place back. Seems interesing? Lets take a look?
In this article, we will explore the various aspects of The Tale of Food to help you decide whether it is the right game for you.
PROS
1. Unique gameplay ideas
By itself The Tale of Food doesnt have something special in terms of gameplay, but things like your own farm, kitchen, restaurant and character development stands out quite a lot.
2. Character Design
The Tale of Food features different dishes, foods and meals as a characters. Yes, they are humanized, but it still sounds and looks pretty hilarious. Another thing that some people might find interesting that all characters in the game are male. This is pretty unusual for a gacha game.
CONS
1. Graphical style
Graphics in The Tale of Food is pretty unique and actually not that bad, but several things like chibi characters with big heads, overall simple graphics, color palette and lack of females put it more in a con area for me.
2. Complicated Story
The Tale of Food throws you straight into action without explaining whats happening in the world around you. This bizarre world of food is refreshing, but it will get you confused pretty fast.
3. Lack of female characters
Yes, The Tale of Food is husbando game, moreover it have some yaoi themes in the dialogues, but I would prefer to have an option of going with females as well. Sadly the only waifu you could get in The Tale of Food is if you pick female as a starting gender.
4. Lackluster Combat
The Tale of Food's combat is looking very simple and feels just like that. 3 types of attacks per character and 4v4 combat. Thats about it. No beautiful animations, no complex combat mechanics.
Conclusion. Is The Tale of Food Good?
Depends
The Tale of Food isnt a bad game, it have some unique and fun ideas like creating your kitchen and serving customers food instead of usual afk chest. But overall it just feels lacking and doesnt hook you enough to continue playing and grind those gacha rolls and heroes.
