If you played Genshin Impact long enough, you’ll get tired of the game and slowly lose the drive to play it. I’m at that stage and looking for something different and new to replace Genshin Impact for me, which is why I think Wuthering Waves would be a perfect choice.
Wuthering Waves is a beautiful story-rich open-world game where you can fight monsters and collect characters. The game’s entering closed beta on April 24, 2023, and I’m so excited to jump in for the first time—so much even that I’ve listed five reasons I think Wuthering Waves might replace Genshin Impact for me in the future.
5. Exploring a whole new world
There’s nothing better than exploring a new world that you’ve never seen before. I’m a sucker when it comes to things like this because I love spending my time climbing mountains, walking across beaches, and generally scavenging for treasure. It’s so fulfilling and rewarding and it’s one reason why I’m so excited for Wuthering Waves to launch because I’ll get to explore a whole new world to my heart’s content. Like, can you imagine all those chests?
4. Grinding your way to ungodly power
A part of my continued worship for games like Genshin Impact is the grind. If there’s one thing that really tickles my bones, it’s the satisfaction of reaching a goal. Whether it’s collecting resources to make soup or defeating monsters to upgrade weapons or even just maxing out a character and seeing how much damage I can do in one hit, grinding always gets my gears going and I’m thrilled to become the best there is in Wuthering Waves. I mean, I have to become the strongest in Wuthering Waves right? No settling for less.
3. Collecting every character in the game
When it comes to gacha rolling, I’m a big spender. I probably spend too much money, but it’s always worth it in the end when I have a roster of absolutely dashing characters that can do some pretty cool stuff. It’s also always interesting to mix and match different characters for unique compositions, especially when going against strong opponents like world bosses. I can’t wait to test out some of the characters in Wuthering Waves and build my perfect team. I can’t promise anything about not spending money, though.
2. Slaying every single monster in sight
Repeat this with me: there are no good monsters, only slightly bad ones. Yeah, I’m talking to the people that don’t kill slimes because they’re cute. I see you. One reason I’m thrilled about Wuthering Waves is that not only is there a whole new world to explore, but one filled with a buttload of monsters to slay. It’s a little sadistic, but hey, at least they drop good loot, right? Well, Wuthering Waves is going to have me as one of its biggest, and hopefully, best monster slayers out there, and fulfilling that goal is why I’m thrilled to jump into the game.
1. Embarking on a brand new adventure
I got tired of Genshin Impact because I played way too much of it and it got to the point where nothing felt new to me anymore after many years. Oh, need to do my weeklies? Okay. How about maxing out my Raiden Shogun? Done—oh, okay. There wasn’t much I could do and that really pushed me away. But with Wuthering Waves releasing soon, I get to embark on a brand new adventure and devote the next few months to a fresh game. Yay! There’s always something truly magical about new experiences, especially when it comes to great games like Wuthering Waves and I can’t wait to experience it next week. Am I going to play it nonstop? Yes. Will I slowly develop an addiction? Very likely.
Forgive me for what I'm about to say, but really? Did you wait for this game to lose interest in Genshin?!?!?! Friend, your taste in games must be at the very least questionable. If you're a "creator" of content, there are even more penalties on the test... but back to the topic, that might even be better than Genshin, (and honestly, if a chimpanzee with minimal effort is going to create a game, that's not it's very difficult)..., but it's just a puppy with a different hairstyle lol! It should be pretty good for a month or two...or as long as youtubers suck up to it.

I've played thousands of hours of Genshin Impact. I'm tired of playing it because I've played it so much which is why I say that I'm excited to jump into Wuthering Waves because it's something similar but also new.
