On April 26th, Flash Party released its 22nd hero: Foxx, the healer of souls. Unlike the cute and mischievous Cookie & Can, Foxx's backstory is much gloomier. As a doctor burdened with a heavy past and carrying his friend's soul, what will their future hold?
Initially, the designers aimed to create a hero with excellent combo ability and high difficulty to master. After several discussions, they came up with a somewhat cynical doctor wearing a blindfold. This may seem contradictory, but the answers lie in his backstory: Fox was originally the most renowned doctor in Metropolis, but when his good friend fell terminally ill, he found himself powerless to cure him. In order to save his friend, Fox read countless books and eventually embarked on a long and arduous journey.
Foxx made a deal with the King of Souls, trading his eyesight for the ability to see souls and allowing his friend's soul to reside within his own body, waiting for a cure. After his friend's soul was transformed into a giant hand, it remained by Foxx's side to protect him.
Now, the two have chosen to participate in Flash Party, winning battle after battle in order to fulfill their wish.
In the final concept art, the designer made the doctor's most representative white coat into a more uninhibited style, while adding a few strands of white hair, a work badge, and a leg bag for medicine. All these allow players to recognize Foxx's occupation and characteristics at first glance.
After completing Fox's design, designers began to consider how his "soul mate" should appear so as to better assist Fox in battle. After several design iterations, they chose Foxx's friend to take the form of a blue giant ghost hand. The huge palm has spikes and outstanding attack power, appearing even more powerful.
Some players may notice that Fox has two weapon options in the above picture: a bone saw and a scalpel. Since a bone saw cannot be immediately associated with a doctor and also deviates from the initial skill design requirements, the final version of Foxx uses red and blue scalpels. This not only allows players to more easily distinguish Fox's profession but also runs through the entire set of Foxx's skill design. The healer of souls, who is good at close-range combos, can use red and blue scalpels to apply "Soul Marks" to opponents and detonate them, adding an additional explosion. The power of the scalpel should not be underestimated!
This is how Foxx and his trusted companion were created. Do any of you have such a good friend?
