Sometimes you just want to sit back and relax with some mental problems and solutions, while other times you want to aimlessly shoot into a swarm of zombies.
At the end of the day, no matter the player, everyone has time for puzzles. This game contains a number of difficult levels in which you must direct a huge group of folks through various obstacles and locales in order to reach the end goal.
Sounds simple enough, but then they throw in some extra objectives that reward you with costumes and unlocks for finding each golden human along the way.
Presentation
Simple & Clean
The game isn't particularly vivid, and it doesn't place a high amount of focus on the game's graphics. It's a very simple, both graphically and musically.
That being said, I believe the music, at least so far in the prologue and first levels and first stage, is overly simplistic, to the point where you will be listening to the same four vocal hums or notes for the duration of the trials.
There is an unlock option that allows you to change the music after you collect enough "goldies," but I have already muted the background music and put on some of my favorite relaxing tunes while completing some of the early stages.
It's a simple answer to a simple problem, but we'll have to wait and see if the music improves farther in when I do have access to changing them.
Gameplay
Delivers
So far, with what has been unlocked and solved in the first two hours of gameplay. It appears to be a good game for those who enjoy utilizing their intellect to tackle more difficult puzzles with constantly shifting mechanics.
You control a Shiba Inu and guide your humans across obstacles by using commands like Float, Jump, High Jump, Move, and many more that will be unlocked as you continue further into the game. You will have to figure out how to solve each stage with the use of few or many of these commands. So it won't be too easy, as it does get a big restrictive and difficult if you do want to 100%.
While I wouldn't call it revolutionary or anything of the sort. It's endearing in its own right, especially the way the developers sold their game using video trailers.
Who could resist a Shiba Inu?
It is more moving here and jumping there. It does begin to ramp up and become challenging in the later stages, with use of lightsabers, blasters, outrunning boulders, and other tools. So this isn't your run-of-the-mill puzzle platformer.
Conclusion
Interesting
It has good playability and puzzle difficulties of varying levels currently, with a lot of room to open up down the line with the more interesting and intricate puzzles.
I may simply have to wait a few hours to see what the game has to offer, but with the audio being more distracting than soothing and the gameplay being a little too slow with unlocking things over time through the story mode.
It's a little... tiresome, I feel like we shouldn't have to wait 5 minutes for some of the larger maps when I fail a stage to have to wait for the humans to reposition themselves so that I can continue playing since the speed up button isn't really that fast, and the movement of the humans is a tad bit too slow.
To be honest, it's more of a nitpick. However, having to reset numerous times instead of having a "rewind" button to move back in time after a failure feels like a major waste. However, once we get more unlocks, perhaps it will be something we can access in the future. Even so, it still feels strange to not have it now.
My initial thoughts on this game come to a close with the caveat that, while others may disagree, that is what makes gamers unique. You don't have to share their interests or agree with them and are welcome to critic me on mine.
