Hey, my name is attiGT.
I wanted to share a boss rushing strat here for the event. On the official discord server the good old question comes up pretty often: "how do we farm FE?". This little overview of my boss rushing strat can be helpful to many players who are new or just looking for a different, laid back version of farming FE so let's get into it.
List of disclaimers I thought were needed to be mentioned:
- I did not come up with this strat, however I fine tuned it to my liking as I played around with it.
- I'm not saying it is the best FE/hour, other content creators have made YT guides where they go over different strats.
You may think that the idea of boss rushing is to mindlessly zoom through the map and kill the boss and that's it. While that is the main focus I wanted to make it more fun for my playstyle.
"Goddess of Hunting" enters the room.
This mechanic allows me to have another set of income and make every single map more fun by giving it a random reward element. It may come with additional legendaries, fuel, fluorescent memories, hero memories/relics or even compasses. I'm sure you remember the boxer card from S2 and the loot explosion it provided. Although the loot explosion is much smaller, you can have a smaller one every map with this method.
As for the cube I go with the left node that has a chance to spawn a big rare that drops 300+ beads and I do go out of my ways to kill it if I happen to find him on the way to the boss, otherwise your only objective in every map is to get to the boss as quick as possible (this cube talent is not needed, purely optional, use whatever you like). At the end of every farming session I take my beads to the vendor and buy whatever I need from the shop but the best income is Maud's Trick, pure FE and compasses. After that I go for the divinity slates but I'm not looking to sell them, just buying the ones that may improve my character. It's important to mention here that beads can be sold as well. Prices in the beads shop vary so if you really want to maximize the profit you should calculate if it's worth buying Maud's Trick from the shop for example or you are better off selling the beads (keep in mind we pay taxes as well). Me personally, I don't care about it too much, I buy out everything that I need from the shop. Beads are not the main income of this farming method so I don't focus on it.
Here is the deck I've been using (note that if you are just starting out you may not have these cards leveled to 5 stars or unlocked at all. They are not needed but they do improve the income a lot, also if you are doing this strat you are unlocking these cards much faster because you end up doing a lot of maps per hour):
Core cards are the 2 stage completion and 2 Goddess of Hunting cards, rest have been finetuned for my liking but I also think they add a significant amount to the income. 90%+ of the time I'm doing the following rotation:
Perception to double the boss of the map 75% of the time -> Hunting Hypocrisy to spawn the mechanic 95% of the time -> Stage completion cards for the remainder of the 5-map rotation. If these extra completion cards didn't spawn you can do any of the others. I like to use the compass card when this happens and also the Netherrealm Resonance card as well. It may not be the most efficient way to do this, it certainly isn't but it has been finetuned for a laid back, chill farming where you don't really have to think too much, just slay monsters :-)
So basically: 2 Goddess of Hunting Cards - 3 Stage Completion cards or Compass/Resonance. That's how 90%+ of my 5-map rotations look like.
In maps I skip all other league mechanics except if they award compasses. The zone you run is completely optional, however you will have to buy them as you are most likely gonna run out of them eventually. Steel forge is a no go for me because it is the most expensive one but the Watcher can drop some expensive items so it is up to you which zone you run.
Movement speed is key, it is essentially a multiplier to your income. I'm playing Milky's Savage Rush Burst Anger Rehan and I have 253% movement speed in town (that is not included all the on defeat and other effect speed increases I get in maps). For this farm to be somewhat efficient I think you need to focus on doing 1 map per minute at least. You may find that difficult if you are just starting out or just got to t7 beacons but it is very much possible to customize your character to this farming strategy by using different movement skills and focusing on movement speed on your relic/memories/slates/etc. You do not need to kill any trash mobs in the maps, most of the profit is from killing the map boss and the Watchers. However, the build i'm using is pretty amazing for this strat so I can highly recommend it, it has a budget version that is more than capable of doing this strategy efficiently, check out Milky's YT channel for more info on the build.
What do I choose from Goddess of Hunting before bosses?
I prioritize compass reward over everything else. The priority list for me looks like this: compass > hero memories/relics > fluorescent memories > fuel > gear.
Compasses sell in bulk really well, you can easily come out of 1 single map with 10+ FE or even more if you roll compass rewards and drop good ones, Goddess of Hunting doubles the boss so you get double the rewards as well. I like to go for hero memory/relic rewards because you can find legendary ones and some are selling for 1-2k+ so if you get lucky on that you can make big profit. I like fluorescent memories over fuel because in t7 you don't drop much FE at least that's my experience with choosing fuel rewards. The cards are fun to open at the end of every farming session too. Gear rewards are the worst.
So you may be wondering what kinda profit is possible with this method. It really depends on how efficient you are with it but it is possible to reach 100+ FE per hour. At the end of the day RNG is RNG but this method provides a decent amount of FE per hour without any RNG. Goddess of Hunting is a great addition because your income won't be solely from The Beginning and selling both t7 and t8 maps. You get a lot of compasses which do sell well in bulk as well as nice hero memories/relics.
So basically you sell all The Beginning drops from the Watchers and all the t7 and t8 beacons except for the ones for the zone you like to run, in my case Voidlands.
What's making this whole strategy even more fun is the fact that at the end of every farming session I get to open a lot of cards (and you do get a lot of them), if you get lucky you can literally open up couple hundred FE worth of legendaries as well. You also get to put many things onto the Trade House and if you do that before you go to bed, you will wake up to a lot of FE in the stash which for me is an awesome feeling.
Looking at the grand scheme of things, one other reason I love this farming strat is that it is extremely healthy for the economy and the game itself. You farm up and provide a huge amount of T8 maps for the people who want to run them and you also provide a lot of The Beginnings for those who wanna farm T7 Traveler.
I'd also like to take the opportunity and tell the devs how much I enjoy playing TLI. For me the amount of options you have at your disposal to customize your character (in terms of item stats, talent points, different type of items, pactspirits, hero traits) is a big part of the game's success. What's also really impressive is the ability to customize the way you farm end game maps: you have a lot of options thanks to trait cards and chaos cards and them coupled with compasses make for a really fun and engaging experience.
