[Game Introduction]
"Refactor" is a pixel art, space-themed roguelike tower defense game. If you're wondering what sets it apart, the keywords are brain-burning strategy, high randomness, high degree of freedom, and easy to get hooked on.
[Game Highlights]
Your towers can be merged and reconstructed multiple times; In addition, each of your towers is completely unique. You can design and create your own defense routes, and each tower placement will have a significant impact on the defense path. Every game starts completely differently, with different traps, technologies, towers, and enemies, offering you a fresh challenge every time.
[Release Plan]
Our ultimate goal is to launch the official version of the game in Q3 of 2023. Before that, we will conduct several tests.
[Behind the scenes]
Years ago, as a middle school student, I would eagerly come home and dive into games like StarCraft and Warcraft. The custom TD maps were my obsession. When I finally had the chance to create my own game, I wanted to pay homage to those cherished childhood memories. Creating a full-fledged RTS game was beyond my reach, so I started with a TD game. Despite initial setbacks in competition due to complexity and lack of tutorials, I persevered. With detailed beginner's guide levels and refined designs, "Refactor" emerged victorious, winning first place in the student category at the IndiePlay Indie Game Contest.
Drawing inspiration from the classic "Gem TD" and the strategic auto battler genre, "Refactor" combines merge, route design, and strategic randomness to create something truly magical. Influences from beloved classics like Tetris and StarCraft are subtly woven into the game's details, adding an extra layer of excitement.
[We need FEEDBACK!]
"Refactor" started as a PC game, and transitioning to mobile brings some challenges, especially in the later levels. I've tweaked the game's values, but patience is still required. Once you get the hang of it, the game becomes a lot of fun. Your feedback on artwork, gameplay, and balance is welcome. As it's the first mobile version of "Refactor," I'll carefully consider your suggestions for improvement.
Enjoy playing!
The pixel-like gameplay scene looks very clean and nostalgic. I played TD games with my friends in WoW maps a lot. I will definitely give this one a try.

the game is so much fun, theres a wide variety of towers to unlock or build, the mechanics of the game is hard, but it is explained perfectly by the tutorial which prepares you for the overall game, although the tutorial only teaches you about 1 or 2 things about how to refactor and make the track longer, i think thats a good approach to teaching new players as that approach gives difficulty to levels to come which if you ask me is a very steep difficulty drop, but nonetheless if you make it through that you will learn new stuff which is so fun, overall 9.6 / 10 game
