Alright, I'll admit. At first I was kinda rolling my eyes, because Match 3s have been done to death. But this has just enough here to make the tired old Match 3 system a little more fresh and robust. The demo only has the Muscely Warrior Panda available, and 4 levels with several stages of monster slaying and tile matching.
What sets this apart from most Match 3 games, even those in the same RPG vein, is this game's matching system. Every turn, you have Action Points which are spent by tapping a tile you want to move. This let's you tap multiple icons and move them all in the same turn. Muscle Panda has Two AP to begin with, so I can select two different icons and move them both. You can only move them in the same direction however, so be aware of what is going where. Another thing I like is that you're not strictly penalized for moving a piece that doesn't have a match. This lets you set up for longer strings that let you do more damage, heal yourself for more health, or even give you more expendable Action Points to use.
Gameplay wise, you have 4 main icons you'll be matching. Swords let you do combo attacks depending on how many sets you've matched and do more damage based on how many swords were matched in that set. Books can give you temporary Action Points the more books you Match in a combo. Potions heal you up, giving you more healing depending on how many you Match (and can even give you some over healing). Coins give you that sweet sweet cash you'll be using back at home base to purchase new weapons and trinkets.
The animations and character designs were good. It's your standard pixel animation that gets the job done. Both the animation and sound design do a good job portraying just how meaty some of these attacks can be.
My only gripe is how slow the combat is at the start of each round. The ramp up to those monster combos is also rather slow, but it's worth it for that Dopamine Hit when your hard work pays off and your combo clears the board multiple times, resulting in overkilling the boss by double his Max HP.
Game's good. Give it a shot.

This game takes the nearly overdone idea of fighting monsters using match-3 mechanics and adds a few twists, those being; an "action point" system that lets the players make more than one of the same move per turn i.e. if there are two symbols you want to move left you can select them both (given that you have enough action points) and swipe left moving them both into position, monsters' attacks occasionally applying negative effects to the symbols on the board rather than you, and gear isn't just direct upgrades or downgrades for example you might want to forgo some attack power for more action points. The only thing I have to complain about is that some parts of the UI aren't in English, but it's pretty easy to figure out what those parts mean.

I should start by saying that I'm not a fan of match three games - one of the very first mobile games that I ever installed on my first smartphone was a casino slots type RPG, it had the very thinnest pretense of a storyline, and looking back on it now, it was a cheaply made cashgrab with character art that was just good enough to grab my attention in the play store, and meant to exploit customers instead of creating and delivering a game made with care and a love for gaming. It soured me on match three games; which hasn't been much of a problem for the several years since I played that cashgrab, but I have heard that match three games with storylines are gradually replacing traditional JRPGs in places such as Japan, and it may only be a matter if time before such games flood the market here.

Match-3 RPGs are alive and still here - BRIGHT REAPPEAR, will anyone cheer?
Bright Reappear is one of those Mobile Match-3 RPGs like 10,000,000, MATCH LAND, and DUNGEON RAID. There is not much to review right now due to it being a Trial version but the Gameplay is basically the same with the others except with the addition of being able to select 2 icons and move them both in one direction. Gameplay Summary: You are able to select from various heroes equipped with 5 different skills and start your adventure immediately.
