December 2nd 1999 Japan studios launched a titled called The Legend Of Dragoon. And action rpg which has a gripping story and even voiced cutscenes. The combat has combo moves called “Additions” and even transformations to unleash devastating attacks. The story is definitely one to remember. I have owned the game numerous times and you can now even get it on PS plus. So if you want a nostalgic feeling check it out.

I more I’m late this week with the memory lane but this week I’m going to talk about a title that was really fun in its time which was the year was 1998 and every kid you knew wanted the new PlayStation. Well I didn’t have one but my uncle which I would visited was the spoiled little kid and had everything. Now I was no beginner to video games but the 3D world just felt so massive at the time. You played as Spyro a dragon and you traveled with your dragonfly which was your life gauge. Intense boss fights and it wasn’t just straight forward fighting you had to use a little bit of tactics on certain bosses to secure victory. Overall it is one of the highlight games of my life and I hope you get the chance to pick it up and try a relic from the past.

1998 Squaresoft launched a game called “Parasite Eve” which was a hybrid shooter/ turn based rpg. The first M rated title by the company. It has an intriguing story and to this day has remained a great game even with todays standards. A few horror elements and sci-fi and add in some difficult fights and you have an amazing game with intense story. Square would go on to launch “Parasite Eve 2” and “The Third Birthday” which built upon the story and system even more. If you ever get the chance check it out if you haven’t.

Let’s go back to August 1994 Atari launched Primal Rage. A Mortal Kombat style fighter except instead of humans you get to play as Dinos and Apes. I know what you’re thinking was it any good? Well, it launched on numerous consoles including 3DO, Gameboy, Game gear, Sega genesis,  PlayStation, Sega Saturn, Super Nintendo, and even had an Arcade for it. You had 7 characters to choose from and the final stage of the game to beat it was 7 consecutive fights in a row with increasing difficulty. If you enjoy fighting games you should give it a go. Nothing like a meteor disaster and awakening of ancient gods.
