Girls' Frontline 2 Exilium: CN Pre-Registration opens on 20th July
2K View2023-07-19Sunborn has formally initiated the pre-registration campaign for its much-anticipated game, Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium, in China. After seemingly vanishing during the Neural Cloud frenzy, three years post its initial revelation, it appears that Exilium is finally set to launch.

The MICA team, creators of the original Girls’ Frontline game, are back at the helm for Exilium. The sequel promises tactical gameplay inspired by XCOM and is expected to run concurrently with its predecessor rather than superseding it.
Exilium serves as a sequel to Girls’ Frontline which first launched in China back in 2016 before reaching global audiences two years later.
Besides Exilium, Sunborn announced several projects in 2020 including spin-offs Neural Cloud and Glitch Land. While Neural Cloud has since been released, Glitch Land was discontinued when its lead developer parted ways with the studio.
A year later saw Sunborn conduct two closed betas for Girls’ Frontline 2 before falling silent for over a year. However, with two trailers released within this past year coupled with this pre-registration announcement, it suggests that plans for this sequel are still on track - much to fans' relief who feared it might follow Glitch Land's fate.
It is also heard Sunborn is also working on an official EN global version for Girls’ Frontline 2:Exilium, though we haven't confirmed that news yet.

Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium (少女前线2：追放) is an upcoming game from Sunborn using XCOM-like, tactical two-dimensional gameplay with 3D graphics using Physically Based Rendering and Non-Photorealistic Rendering. Despite being a sequel, Girls' Frontline 2 is due to run alongside Girls' Frontline rather than replace it.
It takes place in Eastern Europe in 2074, 12 years after the start of Girls' Frontline. Griffin and Kryuger has been dismantled by the government who felt it had become too powerful, but the Commander continues to lead Tactical Dolls in the frontier region between contaminated and safe land after their retirement, chasing bounties aboard the Amos mobile base. As they return from a delivery mission in the contaminated zone, they are attacked by an unknown force who seizes their cargo, which contains a mysterious girl. The Commander must retake the cargo and uncover old secrets and conspiracies linked to relics.
