My Thoughts on this Game

My Thoughts on this Game

The game is phenomenal, there's so much I want to talk about from the excellent art and music, the writing and story and such, but I want to dedicate this review for my love on their own spin on the classic RPG battle mechanics.
To me, it's unique because if two characters attack each other, instead of both attacks hitting and dealing damage, they go into a "clashing" state where the attacking power of attacks are determined by the flip of a coin or multiple of them, and depending on heads or tails, the attack power increases or decreases, then both attacks are compared, the one with the higher power wins, and since it's based on the flip of a coin, every outcome isn't the same, making some fights all the more intense.
I don't know if other games have this type of battle mechanic or at least something similar, correct me if I'm wrong.
And this is ignoring the Sanity mechanic, which determines the outcome of a coin flip, it decreases when an ally dies, when a character loses a clash or when they use E.G.O., a sort of "ultimate" attack that takes it's toll on the user's mental health, and it increases when they win a clash, when an enemy dies or when specific E.G.O. is used.
And it's not just Sanity that affects battles, I'll skim over this, but there's also the kinds of sins that each attack resonates with what kinds of sins characters resist or are weak to and the kind of damage it does.
Because of this, it adds different layers of strategy.
Compliments aside, this game has some flaws, not about the gameplay, but rather the optimization.
The game itself is entirely 2D, but it somehow runs worse on my phone than World of Tanks Blitz on high settings.
If you don't know what that game is, it's a multiplayer tank battling game that is entirely 3D, it has maps that range from large to small with up to 14 players playing in them.
To put it into perspective, the battles (the things you'll be spending most of your time with) in Limbus Company are set in a box with your enemies on the right and your sinners (those are your playable characters) on the left, which all of them are 2D images.
Yet it somehow runs worse than a 3D tank game with large multi-polygon maps.
And don't even get me started on the crashing that keeps happening on my phone after the recent update.
I get they're an indie company, but they really need to put more effort into actually optimizing their game, considering that it's been 6 months after it's release.

honest review-no hate I like the music in this game when fighting. The graphics in this game are pretty good( it's still demo so there is still space to improve the graphics and you need to fix for shirt movement). for the weapon in this game is too heavy it takes a lot of time before the weapon hits the enemy.for a charge attack I recommend a charge attack to dash forward and slash rather than hit the ground(I miss charge attack many times yeah many times).so please lighten the weapon . I know the developer wants to make a heavy weapon but this makes the player difficult when fighting

In these days of all them trash battle royale games that are plaguing the  industry this gem felt like a breath of fresh air. The story is simple yet works well. The graphics are simple yet sets the mood still. The gameplay is unique. The va is done well too. All in all a good game.

Not to mention anything else, at least the game has its own exclusive design for the game's combat. In various demo videos and developer logs, you can basically see the core combat mechanism of this game, mainly to avoid monster attacks , and seize the monster's flaws (blue dots on the body) to interrupt the monster's movement and create output opportunities for yourself. The overall battle process is quite refreshing, and the skills can be well connected, it is estimated that the experience will be good. , look forward to it.
