EA Sports FC Mobile has entered beta right now in limited regions, just over a month before its official release. I was fortunate enough to try out two of its main game modes and explore the game’s mechanics, such as acquiring new players, customizing your club, and soccer team. The beta is expected to run throughout the whole of August, leading to the game's release in September.
Many of the main features are still locked, especially the in-app purchases and progression mechanics. However, the two core game modes are present and playable: VS Attack and Head to Head, which will be very familiar to fans of the previous FIFA Mobile games, as it's basically the same gameplay format entering this new franchise name change.
VS attack is a real-time indirect battle between your team and the opponents, as both teams rush to score more goals against the defending opposing team controlled by AI. The fast-paced nature of these matches adds an adrenaline rush, and the short duration of each half makes it perfect for quick gaming sessions on the go. In contrast, Head to Head is a direct battle between your team and opponents, with both teams competing directly and playing both defense and offense against one another in real-time.
