Is This Roguelike Worth Playing In 2023?

Blazblue is by far one of my favorite fighting games alongside KOF, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat but when i heard that Blazblue is releasing on steam as an 2D side scroller roguelike i immediately jumped on it.
Blazblue allows players to play with 8 different characters from the blazblue universe and starting out you can play as Hibiki which they're rocking two swords. This is a 2D side scroller roguelike so keep in mind a lot of elements like power ups in between rounds or even having one life and being sent back to the shadow realm. Youll see in the gameplay that in between rounds players can be able to choose to buy stuff from shops to further upgrade your characters or give them bonuses to help out. One of the bonuses is called Potential which gives you the usual roguelike features of choosing how to affect the combat of your character which in this case i chose to use staggering cuts which allows me to deal more damage to my basic attack. You are also capable of exchanging the points youll come across in game for supplies like more health or xp bonuses. Once your done shopping and blinging your character out hen you can hop back into training which is where most of the combat

"Chaos Effect" is a Roguelike action game, a derivative work authorized by BLAZBLUE. Several worlds with different styles are waiting to be discovered, where there are not only unknown enemies but also hidden stories.

BlazBlue’s strange take on the roguelite genre | First Impressions - BlazBlue Entropy Effect
In a surprising departure from the series' established norm of being known for its renowned fighting games, BlazBlue Entropy Effect boldly ventures into uncharted territory with its unique take on the roguelite genre, albeit a bit strangely done. At the core of BlazBlue Entropy Effect lies an addictive gameplay loop that seamlessly intertwines side-scrolling action with the exploratory nature of Metroidvania games. The game features four meticulously designed level types—Night City, Ruins, Research Base, and Sakura City—each presenting distinct challenges, bosses, and enemy types to conquer.
