This was the case for me tbh. I tried several times but couldn't play the game because the gameplay isn't fun at all. However with the Nier Collab, I finally somehow got into the game. I still didn't love the gameplay but after getting used to it, it isn't that bad. The VAs, story and character designs are pretty good. They always said Nikke is a game where you play for the "plot" but stay for the actual plot. I didn't understand this before, but I do now.
