TapTap
SYNCED is a team-based rogue-looter shooter set in a techno-apocalyptic future following the Collapse of humanity. I played this on and off throughout its BETA and have now returned to it, however, each time I did return it seemed progressively worse, and to be honest, 7 hours in, I don't feel like it's a game meant to be played alone, for a variety of reasons. There are some times I like it and others I don't.
I would advise to play it with friends to mitigate the repetitive nature of it.

Story

TapTap
You are a Runner who enters the struggle against dangerous creatures known as Nanos inside the Meridian, a sealed off exclusion zone. You'll fight your way through hoards of them in order to obtain information on the big baddies hidden away.
It's neither bad or good. In terms of story, it's average. But, in general, humanity is on the verge of extinction, and you're doing everything you can to fight back.

Presentation

TapTap
Rough
The frequent frame rate drops can be annoying going a steady 60 fps and dropping to a 42-60 consistently, and the combat never feels like you grow acclimated to shooting down the sights. Whereas most games hold, this one taps it by default.
The music is actually rather good, always keeping you interested in the current fights. But the only time you hear music is when you're fighting. It's very quiet as you roam around the instance looking for loot and gear.
Apart from some problematic controls with the way they operate when pointing down the sights. The presentation is adequate, but I fully expected a Battle Pass and downloadable extras on the first day of release. I was right.

Features

TapTap
Basic story
Once again, it's quite simple. Storytelling with an objective focus in which you enter PvE and complete the mission until you unlock more of the dialog to further the story.
TapTap
Battle Pass
Day one pass doesn't offer much outside of some basics for characters to spice up your visual gameplay. I see why this is a thing, but I don't see the sense in acquiring it because you're not going to be focusing on your outfit while playing the game.
TapTap
Dailies, Weeklies & Jobs
You'll be expected to log in daily to receive your daily login incentives, as well as complete your Daily, Weekly, and Monthly activities to gain more battle pass advancement. You can do other things, like as jobs, for various rewards, but the goal is to give you an incentive to enter
PvP or PvE to achieve objectives.
TapTap
More Microtransactions
You can buy other things like VIP pass to earn more currency and buy more stuff from the in-game shops instead of having to grind through tasks and jobs. It all appears predatory, but given that the game is free to play with in-game purchases, it's to be anticipated. The game is entirely free to play, so these aren't mandatory.

Gameplay

TapTap
The gameplay comprises of two separate game modes as well as two additional game modes that unlock as you progress through the content.
I've gone through this several times, and unfortunately my data was reset, so I didn't have much patience to sift through the same repeated gameplay that has devolved into nothing more than the same incidents over and over. I did see a noticeable reduction in Nano bullet sponge. So there is something positive about this version.
After all this time, the game still feels terribly uninteresting and repetitive in terms of longevity. If you play this game in short bursts alone or with a group of buddies. I can clearly understand the visual attraction as well as the temporal appeal.
TapTap
Diversity
Select a preferred loadout from a pretty limited selection of characters, which may be altered slightly. You kill Nano creatures and use the resources they drop to upgrade your own Nano for the rogue-like element, which grants you abilities such as "Killing a Nano drops an explosive to nearby enemies" or "Fire a massive lightning ball every x kills" the more you kill the more powerful you become.
TapTap
Build your character to deal the most damage possible, especially when working in a group. This is even more important while fighting against other players in PvP.
TapTap
Kill, Upgrade, Cleanse
The entire point of PvE is to run about farming and empowering yourself so that you can take on the Surge Sweep and finish your objective. You will enter boss battles in the stage afterwards with the loadout and build you have been accumulating up to that point once you achieve some of the higher stages. Depending on how good your enhancements were, you might make it more challenging or completely trivial.
TapTap
Boss encounters can be challenging if you don't have the right build or team, especially if you go it alone. Based on my previous Beta experiences. The bosses aren't bullet sponges anymore. They provide a more equitable balance than they did previously as they were raid bosses with the ability to one shot.
TapTap
After completing jobs, you are returned to base camp to resume your missions, jobs, dailies, and so on. So, aside from mindless point A to B farming and grinding, there isn't much depth to this game outside of the leaderboard PvP. If you play for an extended period of time, you will eventually burn out and wander away from it.
PvP
I can't say much about PvP because I know for a fact that everyone I played against during Beta and Early Access were bots. However, even though they were bots, I saw a considerable improvement in their ability to kill and target you and other players. It should even out and become more PvP oriented once release, but if the game ever falters, you'll be fighting AI the majority of the time, so keep that in mind.

Conclusion

TapTap
It doesn't stand out
Log in, fulfill the objectives, and then log out.
The gameplay while repetitive is okay. However, the game itself doesn't feel like it's attempting to be something exceptional or unique, but rather a game that you're expected to return to, much like a mobile Gacha game, but without being rewarded with anything. You're basically receiving a sense of accomplishment for doing something as simple as "kill 10 nano" for some currency that isn't that valuable.
While playing, I noticed some performance concerns when compared to the BETA, as well as some overall improvements with the features modified.
Consider it similar to the early days of WarFrame. It was and still is quite repetitious. It's a traditional loot chasing game. You probably won't enjoy it if you don't like incremental advancements and the almost meditative quiet of bopping swarms of enemies and repeating this process over and over again with no changes.

This concludes my views of this game; while my opinions may be met with criticism, that is what distinguishes gamers; you don't have to like the same things as others, nor do you have to agree with them.
If you want to catch me on one of my streams or locate me on social media, you may do so at the following locations, I'm always playing something new.

Hours of cooperative and competitive fun! | Full Review - SYNCED
SYNCED is an ambitious entry into the looter shooter genre, offering a unique blend of cooperative and PvP gameplay set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by advanced nanomachines. It takes a lot of inspirations from other genres too, mixing rogue-lite elements, battle royale mechanics, and even Pokemon style of capturing and commanding powerful Nano creatures. SYNCED is set to release on September 8 for PC, Xbox, and Playstation systems.
