One of the world's largest gaming expos, Tokyo Game Show, is about to kick off, and three indie games have announced their participation. Collaborative adventures, Galactic Metroidvania, survival horror – there's one you'll love for sure.
StormEdge
This is a pixel-art action-adventure game with certain roguelike elements, reminiscent of "Vampire Survivors." The main objective of the game is "running to the edge." During your escape, you'll face numerous enemy attacks, and the environment will change as the gameplay progresses. So, stay alert!
Like other Vampire Survivors games, this game emphasizes a diverse range of skill experiences. Currently, three characters have been revealed, each with a different skill tree that needs to be developed based on the character's unique traits. The Mage character excels in ranged and elemental magic, the Bear Warrior excels in melee attacks, and the Little Girl excels in dodging and high-speed mobility.
The game is co-op, so you will not be alone in your dangerous adventure. HybeTrain Digital will announce the launch of the prologue during TGS.
Quasimorph
A space-themed survival adventure game where players take on the role of a ruthless mercenary, constantly collecting genetic fragments from wreckage to enhance their skills. The game limits the player's actions based on hunger levels. Should you expend your energy to explore more resources or meet your demise? Or is it better to cut your losses? The game's enjoyment lies in the constant oscillation between risk and reward.
The game is currently available for trial on Steam and will be showcased offline, with an expected release date of October 2nd.
Akatori
A game similar to the Castlevania series set in a galactic setting. "Akatori" is a transliteration from Japanese, literally meaning "red bird." In the game, a young girl dressed in red swings her crimson staff and embarks on adventures in various regions. The game's standout feature is its unique art style, with finely crafted pixel animations that vividly depict the girl's journey.
The game is currently available for pre-order on Steam and Kickstarter and will be showcased offline.
Akatori and Quasimorph will be on the offline show by the way.
