"unVEIL the world," which was officially revealed at last year's TGS, has released a new promotional video today.
This game is a joint development project between NetEase Games and Shueisha Games. NetEase Games is responsible for the game's development, while Shueisha Games leverages its industry connections in the Japanese anime and manga world to invite several renowned authors to participate in the game's development. The characters for unVEIL the world were designed by Posuka Demizu. She is a famous manga artist and illustrator who was in charge of illustrating the popular Weekly Shōnen Jump work The Promised Neverland which was written by Kaiu Shirai.
Compared to the concept video released a year ago, this newly unveiled video offers a much richer look at the game. The game employs 3D graphics that recreate the delicate 2D character designs using a cartoon rendering style. The video emphasizes an atmosphere of "shonen manga" and "adventure" and makes extensive use of common Japanese manga-style panel transitions between scenes. The characters start in a city with a mechanical aesthetic and embark on a journey into the wilderness and ancient ruins—reminiscent of the beginning of a classic boys' manga! The adventure begins when a boy meets a girl.
In the video, the game briefly showcases the gameplay of the combat system. When the boy encounters danger, he employs summoning magic to protect the girl. The camera then shifts to a vertical view, showing combat with shrunken character models. Although there isn't a lot of information provided, NetEase excels in this area, and more details are expected to be revealed soon.
