Arknights: Endfield, just dropped not one but two new trailers, giving us a sneak peek into what's in store. Developed by Mountain Contour and published by Hypergryph Network Technology, this 3D real-time strategy ARPG is creating quite a buzz since it was announced over a year ago, and its probably one of the most anticipated mobile/PC games to date.
The first trailer is a teaser for the story with some slight bits of gameplay. In this teaser, we meet some fresh faces and get to know more about the story with some character monologues. The visuals and 3D graphics paint a vivid picture of this unexplored planet, Talos-II which I found has a similar vibe to the game Death Stranding (which is one of the most beautiful games I've played) with its desolate, dangerous but lush, expansive world, setting the stage for an exciting journey filled with mysteries.
The character talks about the Aggeloi, creatures native to the planet; the Blight and how it ruptures into the planet; and the Originium reactor that enables the Automated industry Complex that will be used for the games real-time strategy building elements. The trailer is very well-made, featuring legit voice acting and a pulsating soundtrack that further heightened my excitement.
The second trailer release, named Gameplay Trailer 02, digs deeper into the game's combat system. It shows us what we can expect in terms of gameplay, and it looks like it's going to be a mix of action-packed hack and slash - and just like the original Arknights - a dose of strategy . The footage seems to have been captured on a PC version of the game with its Mouse/KB control scheme.
Arknights: Endfield also introduces a real-time strategic system that lets you a have party of of four operators and build structures together. You'll have various base building elements as you progress through the game. The party you're leading will encounter different factions and enemies, promising an epic experience filled with diverse strategies and challenges. Seen in the gameplay footage, the world seems very promising as an open world and looks very expansive with lots of running and even zip lines to travel around. The gameplay itself looks already polished enough. Everything looks so clean, detailed, and beautifully made and eclipses what most mobile games have in terms of visuals.
With these trailers, Arknights: Endfield is getting closer to its worldwide release on PC and Android/iOS. What's also extra cool is that the trailers’ release coincides with the launch of the game's PC technical test in China, building even more excitement for its global release. It promises a extra planetary-themed sci-fi adventure filled with discovery and teamwork. Stay tuned for more updates as we count down to the release of Arknights: Endfield.
