There wasn't a PTS so... if the new chapter needs reworks we'll fix them up in November
THE MID CHAPTER IS HERE!!! SAY HELLO TO THE PATCH NOTES;
The new killer joining the mist is The Moth, aka Douglas Cohen. After a gruesome mutation due to a lab mishap, this entomologist was responsible for the deaths of many doctors and patients at his asylum. Now, he joins the mist to continue his evil.
Power: Moth Wings
Start each game with five wood pillars in the map. Climb up a pillar and jump off to dove off with your wings, soaring through the air until you hit the ground. You can attack while flying only once.
- New Survivor: Yoruba Cole
Yoruba Cole, aka The Doctor, is one of the only medics who didn't die during Douglas's rampage. A gifted and talented medical scientist, the Doctor mastered the art of resurrection and now brings it into trials to bring his teammates back into the fight.
Perk: Resurrection
Start the game with one token. When a teammate is sacrificed, consume a token to resurrect them, bringing the teammate back into the round with 1 hook. Tokens do not recharge. Resurrection takes 3 seconds to complete.
The asylum is a bloodied up and corrupted version of the asylum where Douglas murdered numerous psych patients and doctors. We welcome the asylum as our first indoor map!
We added the Entomology of Psychology chapter to bring a new spice to the game. A killer that can fly forces survivors to work more strategically and use blockages and hiding spots to a better advantage. A survivor who can resurrect causes the killer to be more aware of that survivor, and make sure all of his kills are secured.
Now, we reach the balancing patches. Take a look!
Something we didn't expect is a Katie Wilde buff. Take a look:
Previously: You open exit gates faster by 3 seconds.
Katie Wilde only had high play rates due to her being one of the base survivors. Now, we have decided to make her more useful in trials by giving her a buff to her original perk while also tweaking it to have more use.
Now: You open exit gates faster by 5 seconds. When you open an exit gate, the exit gate you opened is pinged by a firework.
We hope that increasing the speed at which Katie opens gates, and now her allies being able to KNOW where the open gate is, should help well-coordinated teams in getting away from the Killer.
We've reworked Billy a lot, but after seeing him in play when he was made free in an earlier patch, we have decided to rework his ability again, hopefully for good.
Previously: Gain the ability to build 3 blocks high that last 45 seconds.
This ability was very useless. It's self-explanatory.
Now: Gain the ability to block off doorways and pathways. The block lasts ten seconds, and you have 5 charges.
We hope being able to block off doorways and pathways can be strategically used to force killers to detour, or protect unsuspecting allies when they don't realize the killer is creeping up on them while they are doing a generator.
And now, some developer looksies;
- We are looking into a total power rework for The Miner, as his ability can easily be compared to The Witch.
- We have seen Vivianne Arkham in play lately, and are looking into ways to improve her perk, Fast Travel, on the trial grounds.
- In the v1.0.0 patch, we will be reworking a ton of characters in desperate need of reworks, adding new unlockable traits from the shop, new offerings, and will be redesigning our early maps, which are Shackhouse and Iron Tower.
