I found my fave game for this year~

Alan Wake II starts off like a gritty detective serial, but it doesn’t take long for reality to break down completely. It whisks players along on a surreal adventure through dreams and memories that is at turns terrifying, grandiose, and hilarious. It’s the rare game that defies genre boundaries and illustrates the incredible power of video games as a new storytelling medium, one that can draw inspiration from older forms while never being constrained by them.

The game Limbo is special in that it doesn't quite capture this mystical dimension in my head, but it captures the essence of it. You are a young boy who awakens in a lonely world made of shades of black, white, and gray. The video game logic requires you to move from left to right and jump over the obstacles that appear. This is a simple task that requires little attention for the first few minutes. This is your chance to take in your surroundings. The background gives a sense of depth, but the branches and bridges are lifelike and blurry. The little hero trots with the charming lanky figure of a 6-year-old, with bright, twinkling eyes shining from his jet-black silhouette.

This game is beautiful. The colors are vibrant, they pop, they have LIFE! You play this game and you want to be in those maps, you wanna explore them, and have fun. Maybe you wanna pay Crossroads a visit, and perhaps even have a drink over at Octopolis, either way, the scenery is full of life and rich in atmosphere. The characters too, their designs are brilliant, they look fantastic, and each one has their own set of skins, so you can customise them even further. And plus, the soundtrack?! It's awesome!
