Renowned creator CryZENx has unveiled an updated iteration of their fan remake, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in Unreal Engine 5.3.2.
Featuring this year's meticulously crafted levels, the demo offers a comprehensive experience freely accessible to all enthusiasts. Navigate diverse landscapes, combat adversaries, employ the ocarina, manipulate objects, and engage with non-player characters.
This iteration also introduces cut-scene elements and an inventory system, enhancing the classic N64 adventure. Notably, the new model is optimized with NVIDIA's DLSS technology, enabling smooth frame generation, even at high resolutions. Interested players can readily obtain the demo from the provided link, extending approximately three to six hours of gameplay. Excitingly, this release is available to all, by passing any Patreon paywalls.

At the end of 2023, CryZENx has shared a special 1-hour exclusive release encompassing all levels developed in 2023. Supporters can obtain the download link from
CryZENx's Patreon for free, while he also welcomes any additional support. While acknowledging the presence of glitches and bugs that require resolution, enthusiasts are invited to explore and test the levels, and even capture screenshots using the P Button. Those interested in further project details or community interaction are encouraged to join the Discord server. For enhanced involvement and access to updates, CryZENx invites supporters to join his Patreon. Alternatively, those not keen on Patreon can provide support via PayPal.
This remake version of demo of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, may lead us to wonder if it will be yet another fan homage game challenging Nintendo's legal department?
It is well known that Nintendo has maintained strict control over derivative works based on its games, with its legal division often referred to as the "strongest legal department" by many in the gaming community. Among these, fan-made games have been a particular focus of Nintendo's restrictions.

The company's stance on fan games is rooted in its belief that such creations, which draw upon elements from Nintendo's games, could potentially impact the image of their intellectual properties and characters among players. In instances where pre-existing fan tribute games are discovered, Nintendo typically issues warnings to the development team or distribution platforms under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), requesting the removal of these works.

While Nintendo did introduce new regulations relaxing restrictions on game streams and cutscene videos in the past two years, these changes did not extend to fan homage games, leaving many gamers feeling that Nintendo's control is overly stringent.

Another masterpiece for the Switch? | First Impressions - The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is an extraordinary game that once again, redefines the open-world adventure genre and what’s possible for the rather aging Nintendo Switch hardware. Developed by Nintendo themselves, this game takes players on an jaw-dropping journey through the vast kingdom of Hyrule, now with a much needed verticality, essentially more than doubling the play area. From the moment you set foot in (or fall down) the game's expansive world, you are immediately captivated by its breathtaking scale and attention to detail. The game is set in Hyrule again, with the same core map featuring familiar locations, but the world has evolved so much since we’ve last seen it. Both from a gameplay and story standpoint.
