Can I just plead to all my fellow Fredrinn users to stop using sky guardian helmet on him 😭😂
For one, sky guardian helm reduces regen during combat. Two, No matter how large of a HP bar fred gets cause of his passive, sky guardian helm can only heal him upto his current HP pool nothing beyond that.
Too much Armor ❌:
Another thing is, never build too much Armor on him, you're making his passive utterly useless like this! How? Well, the amount of dmg fred receives is turned into his temporary shield, so more dmg you take, more HP you can regen.
When to get a liittttleeee bit of more Armor?
When you're up against sh*t ton of burst dmg heroes (phy dmg dealing heroes). Otherwise no need.

Probably one of the best items for fred, idk why are people sleeping on this one, it has skill vamp (you especially need this on a hero like fred who spams skills all the time). Has decent phy dmg. If you're building dmg on him, hunters strike is also a good item (its name might've been changed now or idk, in olden days it was named this, it's that violet scythe)

semi-tank Fred (only 2 or Max 3 Armor items)
If you've read my post on fred, this is the proof to that. Always remember to build fewer Armor/tank items only. You will have to recieve some damage to have a HP bar like this otherwise Armor reduces incoming damage and you can't heal yourself beyond your HP. Fred's passive allows you to do so, make use of it!
