The Character Design of Tina

Happy Monday, Party players! In case you haven’t logged in since the update on 20 April, here’s a quick announcement that our newest hero Tina has officially arrived at the Party, woohoo! Fun fact: Tina is actually Sivi’s younger sister, and though they’re similar in appearance, they have their own unique strengths. Read on to learn more about her backstory.

Tina and Sivi have different personalities. She is introverted, calm, and taciturn, and capable of attacking opponents with precision and agility. However, when with her brother and his friends, her demeanor is much more jovial. After we made changes to Sivi’s appearance, we updated Tina’s design accordingly to reflect their relationship.

Tina is exceptionally talented in sports and she also learned to fight from a young age. Her gift even drew the attention of a mysterious visitor (whom you might perhaps meet on the Flash Party stage in the near future!). Initially, we wanted to highlight Tina’s cold and mysterious personality in addition to her talents in combat. For example, we attempted to add Ninja elements to her design, and made her different varieties of costumes, such as sports and streetwear. We also made further modifications to her physique so that her looks not only allude to her lifestyle, but also shadow the appearance of her brother Sivi.

After further deliberation, we realized that the second concept from the left best suited our requirements, so we decided to develop Tina based on it. We also adjusted her costumes by removing some of the colder elements while keeping her lightning-shaped hair clips. In this way, she looks a little more approachable yet athletic at the same time.

One last but important goal for Tina’s design was to create a character who specialized in leg attacks. As such, we made sure that the design for her legs was unique and demonstrated strength. During the final developmental stage, we made her a pair of light and flexible sports shoes, letting her send her opponents flying out of the Arena with one swift, powerful kick!
