Day 7: Kitaria Fables
Platform: PC
This is a cute little ARPG/farming sim with heavy Harvest Moon elements. Or should I say Story of Seasons? So far all of the characters are anthropomorphic animals, and I think one is actually a food and is definitely not an animal. The game starts off in town, and questing starts out with light combat and a fetch quest. Pretty normal RPG beginning. Once you've done a few quests and made your way through the first dungeon, the farming elements open up. There's a day/night cycle, which luckily you don't have to sleep and there's no fatigue or stamina to worry about. The time of day (which ticks by as one second in real life equaling one minute in-game) only seems to affect some of the mobs that spawn, and whether the shops are open or closed.
As for combat, you start out with a sword, but there are other weapons you can unlock, each with its own set of skills, and you can also learn magic spells. One rather unique feature is that you can quickly replenish your mana (used for magic spells and weapon skills) simply by just hitting enemies (or striking dummies.) Another thing I like is that all the enemies' attacks are telegraphed with a highly visible AOE (area of effect) marker, which makes them pretty easily dodged. Mobs respawn upon re-entering an area (including dungeon floors) so that makes farming then for materials and ingredients easy. You can also unlock teleporters to make traveling a lot more efficient.
My only real gripe so far is the map/navigation system, as there isn't a detailed map, and it can be a bit difficult to find who you are supposed to turn your quests in to if you don't remember specifically where they were.
As it took me a little bit of time to get the game to start opening up, I haven't been able to do much in terms of the farming, but so far this is definitely a fun little game and I look forward to playing more of it, and would recommend it to those who like a good mix of farming, questing, and combat.

Nice! Yeah it's like a chill Harvest Moon in terms of the farming aspect. Let me know what you think of it if you want 🙂

Celebrate Harvest Moon’s Birthday with 5 Farming Sims You’ve Probably Never Played
Written by @Kef Edited by @cheddar Do you love Stardew Valley? Do you love games that focus on farming, managing your land, and building relationships with the townspeople? Do you live farming sims? If so, it’s time to pay respects to the o.g. This month marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the North American release of Harvest Moon, which is considered by most to be the first full farming simulation game. Launching on the Super Nintendo in June 1997 (and the Super Famicom in Japan about a year earlier), Harvest Moon introduced gamers shocking idea that an entire game could be built just around mostly mundane, everyday tasks like taking care of chores, giving gifts to other villagers, and just generally being the best farmer you can. The game’s visuals may have slightly resembled Japanese RPGs like the Final Fantasy series, but the gameplay was entirely without combat, which was extremely rare at the time.

The best farming RPG
One of the best games I have ever played. The graphics and music are great and the controls are pretty good! Waiting for 1.5 is pain tho :[ In this game, you inherit your grandfathers farm in Stardew Valley. So obviously, you move there to try out farming. Welp, turns out nobody looked after it for years so its chock full of weeds, rocks and trees. On the bright side, you just arrived and now its your job to take care of it.
