In late 2023, Insomniac found itself having to defend itself against a massive leak of the kind rarely seen in the history of video games that, among other things, also released gameplay clips of Marvel's Wolverine.
The event was indeed massive, so much so that the community and critics questioned the data that emerged from the immense leak. A leak so significant that Insomniac Games found itself even making a public statement to that effect.
In an open letter, Insomniac said, "We are saddened and angered by the recent criminal cyber attack on our studio and the emotional toll it has taken on our team of developers. Over the past few days we have been inwardly focused on supporting each other."
In addition to Insomniac's many future projects, including a series of Spider-Man and Marvel-related video games in general, a preliminary version of Marvel's Wolverine emerged from the leak, complete with more or less full gameplay.
The affair is unfortunately not over for Insomniac, because the very game featuring the Canadian clawed man seems to still be the victim of hackers.
As The Gamer reports, more clips of Marvel's Wolverine are circulating online these hours, just when it looked like the leak was over.
According to reports from those who have seen the clips, which we will not put in this article, the clips show a build supporting a number of game mechanics in a level that is still being created. These clips appear to have been shared a few hours ago, and it is unclear whether they are actually from last year's leak or are a new attack on Insomniac Games.
In this case it would make sense since, according to the investigations done on the hacker attack, it seems that the group responsible managed to steal something like 1.67 terabytes of data in total. So it is likely, unfortunately for Insomniac, that things did not end there.
Incidentally, among the leaked data are also the personal data of the developers, who now also fear identity theft after the attack.
