I have never played any octopath games nor do I know anything abt it. I just got drawn to pixelated aesthetic and looked like old jrpg. Plus, I had been itching for a good turn-based game to play on mobile (since I can't afford console duhhh).
The main story, though generic, is so intriguing. Yes they have the same tropes like the chosen one to save the world and classic villains who just pure evil, BUT they used these tropes well. Not too exaggerated or overused.
As for the traveller stories tho, it's a mixed bag. A lot of the low star units' stories almost the same; female units often abt finding husband and male units often abt becoming adult.
I love the visual presentation. The colour palette bring me back to old jrpg. I like the pixel is more of "how you can put as much details in pixel art" than "use pixel to simplify stuff". Idk how to explain this in simpler words but this is the best I can do.
The battle is easy once you get used to it. I'm a character collectors, so I won't touch on the battle system. I simply don't know what to look for in a good battle system. Overall, the battles are fun and engaging.
I do hope when changing skill, it just affect the team that unit is in. For example, I change Scarecrow's skill in team A, so I don't want his skill in other team also set like his skill in Team A.
Also, the male to female ratio seems balanced to me. No stupid ratio like 100 females and 5 males like most gacha games. Idc if most of the five stars are female, as long there's still a lot male units I can use.
The male designs are varied. Teens, young men and uncles and grandpas. Some are thin, beefy and chubby. Can't say the same for the female units tho. Where's my sword wielder grandmas at? Lololol
Overall, I really enjoy this game and can see myself playing it for a long time. Thanks for reading and happy gaming!

Great review! I also found the usage of usual tropes to be well executed, not overdone. The unique pixelated aesthetic and the diverse character designs certainly add an extra charm to the game. Can't wait to try out more characters!

Octopath Traveler 2 PROS and CONS. Is it Good?
Octopath Traveler 2 is very good JRPG, but does it have any flaws? In this article we will talk about both good and bad sides of Octopath Traveller 2 so you can decide if this is the right game for you. PROS 1. Unique graphics. This game mix together 2D, 3D and modern graphical effects. It looks very good and stands out from other games I played so far. 2. Great Story. Storylines are great and interesting. And pacing is perfect as well, so you are not being bored with dialogues. They always leave you craving for more. And voiceover is great too.

Great game excited my expectations Pros It's a classic jrpg (fights-visuals) reminding me the good old days of FF (final fantasy) either the first games or the tactics series takes you back to the past . Combat system (Player abilities ,Break system, Animations, Sound is unique  and seriously EPIC Nice collab's It's a f2p single player jrpg it's not neccesary to buy currency i am playing f2p since launch and pretty good

70+ hours in, and it's a great Turn-Based RPG. Superb music composition, and the battles are
Just finished Bestower of Wealth/Power/Fame Prologue, meaning that I have finished all the available Main Story Quests, and the only I can say is... I want more!!! The flow of the story keeps you invested enough, and unlike the original Octopath Traveler, it all divulges into a greater picture, making it all interconnected, something the OG missed. Battles can be as complex as it can be, as you get further into the game, which makes every decision you make equally important as your character roster. Yes, it's a Gacha, but as long as you don't blow everything in one go and spend your Rubies economically, you will eventually more 5 stars. Heck, I finished most of the story just by relying on my single 5*, because the other 4* are amazing, too.
